i know in Spanish culture it's normal to kiss on the cheek but to friends or relatives or really close acquaintances. Maybe somewhere in the past there was a misunderstanding?
This is so true! It's bothered me so much. Every single American character from every single genre of manga that I've read greets with a kiss on the mouth. I'm like, wtf? I mean, most Americans are pretty big on personal space. It's mostly European countries that greet with kisses on the cheeks. But there is a world of difference between light pecks on the cheeks and a full on kiss on the mouth. I mean, seriously.
