when i started this manhwa, i realized i felt similar outrage before, and oh it’s the pride and prejudice dynamic. the kind of dynamic that you cannot execute without a good understanding of power. and the author gets it.
the core of it is a clash between pride (ml) whose arrogance became his downfall EVEN when he doesnt mean it and prejudice (mc) whose struggles led him to have ideals that created prejudices. mc was initially cornered, as he was helpless against so many structural injustice. ml perpetuated mc’s terrible situation because of his lack of understanding towards the power dynamic and pushed mc into a corner.
their relationship started to bloom when ml learned to lower his ego, see things from mc’s pov and discard arrogance (which often is unintended) while mc learned to see things differently by not leaning on his prejudice. his prejudices have helped him to survive, a guard as a package deal with his ideals. yet he must be able to lower them for this to work.
at its core, this dynamic can only work well with struggles against injustice, it’s essential in elizabeth bennett, and it’s essential here too.
ahh if only the ending isnt rushed.
its fine if they suffer a bit because i believe in the author who birthed song uyun #trust #allin everything will work out
garam is in the wrong for how he’s handling a conflict, but jaehyuk also seriously terrifies me. it’s not healthy to throw everything for a relationship, it can in fact make you resentful in the future. garam didn’t ask for any of that, and it’s not even positive things.
reading this is so terrifying. miwa is way too similar to one of the girls i’ve been in love with. her insecurities and her problems hit too close to home. then as the story progressed, i cannot believe how much i relate to both tamaki and yuria, but also to sae. this is so crazy good how will anything else ever measure up.
csm twt is experiencing what happened in this manga in real time rn
some of yall dont get how horrifying it is to be outed... especially in a homophobic country such as within this context. there will always be risks, and jaehyuk is extremely privileged and new to this to be able to disregard that risk.
garam could have communicated better and him running away and deciding by himself on the course of action is not right either. both sides could have done better, but blaming garam only atp is just... ignoring the context and very valid risks, not to mention trauma.
i thought this is gonna be a funny comedy slice of life no serious plot little did i know i have now been hit by several trains this is going to my all time fave
I can read these mangas many times! I rate them >9.5/10 based on my own preferences, so there will be lots of non-mainstream BL

(IF 1ST LIST IS FULL, I'LL MOVE OLDER ONES TO MY LIST 2&3)
im constantly on the edge of my seat bc so far the author shows no effort in redeeming ml and im eating that up, i really detest it when the dogblood ml is not aware of what atrocities he is doing, yet this one is very much aware and still doesnt regret or tries to change it, not one bit. he is awful and he knows it. it’s a deadlock of unstoppable force and immovable object and i wonder if the author can actually execute a good ending. one that will not betray the essence of mc who refuses to forgive and ml who refuses to relent.
personally i think its perfectly normal to stay friends with your exes especially in urban queer communities i have been introduced to my partner’s exes and past fwbs. furthermore the amount of times an ex of my partner being an acquaintance/a friend i already know bcs the circle is that small.
but i guess my favorite part of this author is how realistic it is. i giggled the entire time of playtime with hakdo because the main couple acknowledging their huge capacity of love and the fact that sometimes it do be like that with found families.
is it realistic? yeah because a lot of people have this kind of ass logic. everyone keeps making assumption and its all crazy miscommunication as justification for shitty plot.
i think some of yall give kyouji too much credit, he might be an adult but as you can see shit tons of adult in this manga dont know what they are doing. he knows what to do, but a lot of it is unconscious, impulsive decision too. it’s just not that black and white.
im grateful that i decide to give this a chance bcs ml is fucked up but also very humane… i did try to kill him in my mind so many times tho
bro i was single, met a girl, fell in love, dated, broke up, and moved on and these two have only just kissed thanks for being the one constant thing in my life i guess
