The female lead almost always ticks off 2–3 (sometimes more) of these boxes:
She’s either the villainess, the villain’s daughter, or occasionally the sister/friend of the “real” female lead. Sometimes she’s betrayed by a sister who was secretly evil.
She’s regressed, reborn, or reincarnated. When that happens, she’s either:
a) A random Korean woman in her mid to late 20's who was a professional in a specific field (medicine, cooking, architecture,) and uses that knowledge to her advantage.
b) An actual character from the story who died in the original timeline and now knows everything that’s going to happen, and now can act accordingly.
- 8 times out of 10, she has to escape abusive relatives and reunite with her “real” family while still a child. Or, if she’s already with her real family, they’re all awful and constantly mistreat her, leading to her being adopted by the ducal family (the duke + sons).
- She always has only a father, the mother either dies during or shortly after childbirth. (This only applies when she isn’t adopted.)
- There’s usually 1–2 older brothers. If there’s only 1, he’ll have a semi distant or cold relationship with the father that changes because of the FL’s arrival. If there are 2, they’re usually close in age to the FL (like a 2–4 year gap). No matter how they start off, they all become obsessed with her within a few chapters. If there are 3, the oldest is usually a teenager between 15–19.
- Add 2–3 male childhood friends who later become love interests, plus maybe one female friend in ADULTHOOD if she’s lucky.
- She has an extremely rare, one in a million OP magical ability that the evil royal family desperately wants. Bonus points if a temple paternity test gets rigged by corrupt clergy bribed by the king/emperor.
- She always has a knight bodyguard and personal maid who act like surrogate parents.
Her main goal is either to straight up survive the main plot, get revenge on those who wronged her, or stash as much money as possible to run away and live peacefully.
The male lead (ML) is basically:
- 9 times out of 10 he starts off toxic.
- Ripped as fuck.
- Hair color is either black 75% of the time, white/silver 15%, or other 10%. Eyes are usually red, blue, or gold.
- He’s a duke 85% of the time, ALWAYS from the north, and the remaining 15% a prince but ALWAYS illegitimate, with a dead mother, an evil older brother, and a scheming stepmother who wants him dead because he’s more capable and gifted than his brother.
- No matter his title or background, he’s a highly experienced OP knight, nicknamed something like “Demon of the Battlefield,” with insane mana capabilities. There are always rumors about him being a ruthless tyrant capable of killing anyone who pisses him off.
-IF he IS a duke, he always has INSANE economic leverage. It’s not just that he has a lot of money he’ll own all the diamond mines in the kingdom or have complete control over trading routes because they happen to pass through his territory. Bonus points if he has a magic stone mine.
- Before meeting the FL, he’ll either have too little or too much experience with love and women. There’s never an in-between.
I lost it because of the whole reading lists obliteration thing but
I remember it was about University students
One of them (bottom) had like shoulder lenghth green hair that he kept in what I think was a half up half down style (I could be remembering wrong)
The other one (top) was more distinctive looking, he had like black and white hair and I'm pretty sure his ears were pierced. He was also interested in the other guy first.
I recall the story being pretty short too.
I remember very little from it but it's like sci-fi? Fantasy? One of the MLs (Top) is this weird human reptile hybrid situation and I remember him having long blonde hair (I could be wrong) and the other (who I am pretty sure was the uke) is a doctor I think and If I remember correctly he had black hair and glasses?
Can anyone give me some short korean BL recs?
I'm talking about something with like 30-65 chapters
Not the type that goes on for like 100+ and nothing that is still ongoing. I need them to be finished because I am impatient piece of shit.
For some reason there's a part of me that is still slightly bitter that philia never the got real parental figures / parental love that she so desperately craved for. Yet Mia ended having both (her parents AND her aunt)
she got all the "love" and attention she could need from her real parents even if they secretly were actually trash human. And when that was done she gained an aunt/adoptive mother. But here's the thing, Philia never learned Hildegard was actually her mother and the time she spent with her was just harsh and strict training and Solely duty based. So in the end, the softer and more motherly side of her (Hildegard's) only gets to be experienced by Mia now. Philia doesn't get to have that with her
I wanna clarify I am not blaming Mia for this nor do I believe she doesn't deserve all the lover and sugar in the world because she absolutely does. I just feel bad for philia.
For as much as it hurts me, what kang did was the right thing to do
He doesn't feel that way towards him (at least not yet) and leading him on out of pity would have been worse.
Also all the people people shitting on him for feeling bad because he got turned down?
So if you're into someone and you get rejected you aren't allowed to feel sad at all?
Give the guy a break, dayum
Personally, when I KNOW the ML is not gonna be who I want it to be I just stop reading the story. I Know this is not the case with everyone but I personally read these historical mahnwas SOLELY for the romance and if I KNOW I don't like what's end game I just drop it, cause why bother? I'm looking at you "actually I was the real one"
Claude is the canonical male lead and I love him so I'm gucci but all I see are people mourning over ronnie not being END game. Maybe I've just read too many of these but since the very start to me it was so obvious that it was gonna be claude.
No one in this goddamned castle has a good sense of timing they be walking in on every couple
Me slowly putting down my gun after realizing Matoba is in fact, just like me for real.
If I'd gotten those cards you'd see my dumbass framing them and putting them on my wall.
That bath scene...
My Fujoshi side.... felt things....for a moment there....
This is CLEARLY a spin-off of some other manga that hasn’t been uploaded here yet and just based on classic yaoi tropes I can take a guess on what the main story is.
Twin herbivore semes raised by the carnivorous uke. Incesty and groomy and just all around NOT my cup of tea AT ALL. The old “yes you raised us but we never saw you as a parent figure and we’ll fuck you until you gaslight yourself into thinking what you feel for us is the same. And yes it’s okay for us all to be a weird polyamorous relationship even though 2 of us are literally related by blood and WAY younger than you”
I can't with jile not being able to play the part of a villain and just letting mori "k-o" him XD
no one can be mean to him, he's just too cute (/TДT)/ <3 <3 <3
As someone who is aro/ace with adhd this chapter hit HARD. Always feeling uncertain like something is wrong with you. Meanwhile it feels like everyone else's lifes move foward and you're stuck, not doing what your "supposed" to be doing.
When literally all you're doing is just being You.
Now that we know the egg's backstory and how sad and dark it is. I start remembering all the comments here of people wishing for the egg to die or be smashed and shit and it just feels awful. Like dayum even the people outside of the story we're throwing death threats at a fetus. I swear to god once we start getting cute baby scenes I better catch any of yall's asses fangirling and pretending it's all chill
