It’s kind of ridiculous when they just slap ‘30 years old’ onto the female leads as a way to be like ‘oh, she has life experience, how cool!’ when the FL’s still have the personalities of teenage girls and of course are virgins despite their supposed age because of course female leads must be ‘pure’
The one page we got from the blacksmith sisters backstory/perspective was more interesting and in-depth from anything we’ve gotten from the protagonist. All of her bonds and motivations feel incredibly shallow, as well as her personality. People are loyal to her because (checks notes) she’s a cute little girl. That’s pretty much it. She has had literally zero genuine bonding moments with anyone, like she said ‘I’ll always be by your side’ to the ML: bro we have not seen a single scene where you have a true connection with him, it’s just shallow conversations.
I really want to like this story because the art is so good and it seems more feminist than the majority of stories, but it’s just so lacking in any substance.
Plus, the ML keeps calling the guy from the desert an ‘underdeveloped primate’. Yea, racism is sooo attractive.
I disagree with most part, but at the end I disagree the most. I think whether he'd come from the desert or ice fields or atlantis, ML would still call anyone near FL underdeveloped primate. It's just a general insult. Are caucasians not a primate too? Hey we are both primates. Insults are meant to be mean.
I never said that..????? And sure, people can say racist things without knowing or intending, but this is so not that. He didn’t call out Nyang’s skin tone, he was just being an ass in general because Nyang likes the FL and ML hates everyone who gets close to the FL.
Did you like read blind? ML is literally jealous of Nyang because the FL shows him more affection than she does to him (the ML). ML wants to be all of the FL’s firsts and onlys. That’s literally it. Again, you’re reading way too much into something that is not deep at all
In this chapter you can really see the subtle misogyny that’s prevalent in this genre. How the ML’s friend feels free to insert himself into her personal space (forcing her to lean back) upon first meeting her. How the ML feels free to physically stop her from speaking when she’s about to say something he doesn’t want her to say. It’s these small physical acts that say a lot when we pay attention.
Anyone else think Mr. Tang should’ve figured this out by now? Or at least considered the possibility. After all, he lives in the same world as He Gu, you’re telling me he’s never heard of this VR business thing? I understand He Gu has played dumb and acted like he’s in a cult or smth, but don’t you think the possibility should have at least crossed his mind?

I really wanted to like this story because MC is pretty cool but everyone else is just so scummy. Her father and brothers neglected, used, and discarded the OG Camilla and now suddenly love her because she did a few nice things?? Slimy, fickle scumbags. I feel pity and disgust that she’s being taken in by their shallow and fickle love since she’s never known any familial love at all. Sweetheart, it is not supposed to be like this. MC herself already told us about Petro’s scumminess so I won’t elaborate further. ‘Donna’ raises blood pressure at the complete lack of genuine remorse and just dismissiveness for all the suffering she’s caused to both Camilla and Sia. Also, all the side-characters like the red-haired duke who treated Camilla and Ravi with disdain for being commoners and now also change their minds at the drop of a hat and accept them despite their lowliness can go to hell.
The ghosts can also be pushy and annoying and also are often brainless plot devices rather than realistic as the people they were meant to be. Like in that scene where MC is telling the butler and past family head why she’s faking prophetic dreams and has to hold their hand and explain the whole thing as if it isn’t such as easy deduction that these two supposedly intelligent people should’ve been able to make.
It definitely feels like the MC is the only character who has any consistent characterization/feels like a real person. Everyone else (except maybe the black-haired love interest) feel like foils and plot devices in the world that revolves around her.
Also, just a side thing that bugs me: why does MC call the blonde girl ‘the protagonist’ and refer to her as a ‘character’??? Did someone in the creation process of this manhwa forget that this is a world she saw in dreams and not from a book?
