Yeah no... I mean... I'm one of those who usually complains. Because... be it body, face, hair or even detailing the clothes... rofan ML are drawn better?
I'm not even meaning this comic in specific but like 90% of all Idols and Actors comics. And the puppy looks is seriously overused in them. He is not ugly, just... not as beautiful as the comic makes him to be? Like, on that barbecue scene, it took me a while to identify who was the mc cuz they don't look that different or better than the others? Actually I like his classmate looks better...
But again on the rofan topic... I cand even say that's because mc is "younger" cuz there's many teenager and even younger characters there looking better than mc. And it's weird when you like and read both genres and see a side character in rofan (not even mc or ml or ml candidate) and they look better than the main character of the idol/actor you've just read...

And like... even when the comic is based on novel... when you see the mc on the cover art and the comic... sometimes... you can't help but feel the artist didn't do jus to the character... but well... I'll still read them anyway... xD

it all comes down on the artist's style anyway. rofan artists usually have a sharper, more detailed style to capture intricate things like interiors and dresses. but there are also rofan works with a softer style, but they often have lighter plots. this manhwa plot isn't too heavy and its set in modern time too so a softer art style would work just fine.

you can see in the novel illustration (the one with him wearing a mask) he has downturned eyes which make him appear softer. coincidentally the artist chosen for this comic has a distinct style with soft facial feature and big eyes. both the og appearance combined with artist art style, he ends up looking superduper soft, subtle, and "not as handsome as expected"
