You're misreading everything and injecting your beliefs and interpretations into Ian's motivations.

FIRST of all, Ian DID NOT coerce Noah into a physical relationship with him. He seduced him, yes, but not forced. 2. Ian didn't tell him upfront that he only wanted a FWB relationship, so he was negligent in that way, and he was cruel, because he had laughed it off when YeJun asked him if this was theirs dating. Although, again, we are seeing this from Noah's perspective, so the laughing COULD have been just a light laugh thinking that Noah is so cute but naïve, but Noah interpreted this as his being downright condescending and being callous (don't know, we're seeing this through Noah's eyes). 3. YeJun got into this relationship even THOUGH it was ambiguous for him because he really likes Ian and didn't want to reject Ian for fear of losing him. FURTHERMORE, it was difficult for him because they were being lovey dovey, Ian had treated him with affection (who knows, maybe he's that kind of person twds his FWB, or just twds Noah, ¯_(ツ)_/¯) but Noah definitely perceived it that way. But yet he didn't say no because he likes Ian. But Ian didn't force him into anything, he did it of his own volition. He had said it HIMSELF that he "couldn't say no because [he] likes Ian" and he didn't want Ian to reject him if he rejects the FWB relationship. Yes, for sure Noah was so afraid of Ian's rejection that he didn't want to speak to Ian again. I had though so until he had brazenly (and foolishly) showed up at Ian's doorstep uninvited and without Ian's acknowledging that it is ok for him to come. It is UNFORTUNATE that Noah had happened to have come while Ian was in heat, but it was neither of their fault that they ended up having sex because 1. Ian is in rut and seemingly really out of it/ isn't even aware of who he had dragged in, at least, not consciously 2. Ian was so high on sex hormones that he just wants to have sex, but he isolates himself at home so he doesn't go into rut where other people can be exposed to his instincts and pheromone, but Noah came to him of his own volition; nobody had forced him. I know he didn't go there (assumingly) to have sex with DoYoon one last time, but DoYoon was in heat, and if this universe has alphas and omegas be very sexually aroused and sexually aggressive during their heats then who's to say who's right or wrong, when they're under the influence of their own sex hormones?!? And the double whammy is that not only are they NOT in control of their minds and bodies but they also, for the alpha, in this story, unable to control their pheromones, so that they influence whomever is around them that are receptive to said pheromones. Now, it is UNFORTUNATE that Noah had been in the immediate vicinity of a rutting alpha because SOMEHOW Ian's rutting pheromones had been strong enough and effective enough to possibly have triggered Noah's dormant omega genes, which had caused Noah to become receptive to Ian's pheromones. Up to this point so far, neither of them knew that this could happen; both had known Noah to be a beta, and exposure to an alpha's (or any of the sub genders, alphas and omegas alike) pheromone does not have an effect on Noah. Ian pulled Noah into the house, not knowing that Noah's body had turned (it could have happened ever since they started their physical relationship, who knows, or during the time after the breakup when they had no contact, or even, something spontaneous like this (although scientifically impossible, as the uterus needs time to develop)), to induce a change in Noah to become an omega, or to awaken his here-to-fore latent hyper recessive omega genes. Whatever the case, they had been operating on the knowledge that Noah is a beta. Ian hates omegas so he doesn't want to have a physical relationship with omegas. And his rutting pheromones spoke to Noah with "a scent of utter desolation" - which means he isolates himself from having relationships with omegas either because something had occured in the past for him to have done so - or that he just SIMPLY doesn't want to have his relationships ruled by instinct, overcome by the sex pheromones and sex hormones produced in times of ruts and heats - thereby communicating to the omega that he doesn't want this kind of relationship. He stays away from omegas possibly for reasons like what ended up happening with Noah. Noah ended up being the recipient of such a message (the go-away, I-don't-want-to-deal-with-you omega message), and yet, out of their control, Ian turned Noah into an omega/activated his genetic expression, and caused both of them to be sexually attracted to each other, via pheromone control, thus resulting in Ian's inherent alpha nature to want to mark the omega that he's so drawn to, without his conscious desire to do so, and as a result leading him to mark the omega (without his conscious will) and to impregnate him (without his conscious will) - ALTHOUGH, during the RUTTING sex he DID call out YeJun's name, of which we don't know the meaning of yet - maybe he truly likes Yejun - like in an affectionate kind of way - or could be physically - as in they had been FWB and are compatible - and so it came up in his subconscious - or that some part of him recognizes YeJun during the sex. But anyways, Ian's pheromones seems to repel omegas (the second hypothesis) by inducing them to feel "utter desolation" so that they don't get drawn to him when he is in rut - and/or he feels this sense of desolation (the first hypothesis) because he tries so hard to fight against his instincts and as a result feels alone in this self-imposed isolation, since being with an omega is his natural instinct and fighting against who you are is REALLY REALLY hard. This is just a guess, but during ruts alphas would WANT to entice omegas to have sex with them, not to PUSH them AWAY and repel/repulse them with this scent (and sense) of utter desolation. So either he himself is feeling desolate or that he is make his counterpart feel that way. I don't know which. Anyways, some ppl are saying that that his pheromone transformed Noah, and that could be he has a subconscious desire to want Noah to be an omega, but that also goes against the fact he doesn't want to be around omegas, and that he had cut it off with Noah while Noah was still a beta. IF he had wanted to transform Noah then he could have been doing that and keep on having a sexual relationship with him, why bother breaking it off?!? If he TRULY had been manipulative he would have made Noah continue the relationship DESPITE KNOWING Noah's feelings, especially after it had already been brought to the forefront. He had let Noah go after seeing that Noah had rejected the idea of continuing - not so much from Noah's words (well, he was mute), but through his body and facial expressions of utter despair and disappointment.

I'm operating off of the principal that Ian was in rut and hence was not in control of both his mental faculty and physical faculty, as Ian himself had expressed in the very first few chapters, and that since both had known YeJun to be a beta and isn't susceptible to Ian's pheromones, so that neither of them had known this would happen. Also, if Noah had gone to Ian's house to return the inhibitor then why did he not even use it?!? Was it there for decoration?!? Ian was obviously far to gone, even if the bag w the inhibtor had fallen down he must have had other inhibitors around. He was SOOOO clueless that an alpha was rutting and had no idea he needed to use the very injector he had "come to return". How can you "blame Ian" for Noah's lack of knowledge/awareness??? Dude wasn't even cognizant and was faded. How can you blame Ian for transforming a beta to an omega in a moment of non lucidity??? He probably didn't even KNOW he was doing that, if this omegaverse is where a beta can be turned via an alpha's pheromones, specifically by one in rut. He was under the influence of all that sex hormones. He was SOOO high he didn't know whom he had slept with, that he had marked some omega "that had snuck in during [his] heat"?!? The fact Noah had been turned was because of Ian's rutting pheromones, of which pheromone release is but a natural part of an alpha "in rut", and which functions to draw in omegas and induce them into heat so that they can mate with an alpha, for the purpose of procreation. I guess you FORGOT ALL of that so conveniently. That's the reason why DoYoon said what he had said in the chapters where he consciously forces YeJun into heat when they met up again four years later. So funny he's giving second gender biology lessons during sex though.

So "his entire identity [being] ruined" wasn't due to Ian's doing. It's a natural order of things when a beta in front of a rutting alpha could turn or it could have been due to exposure to said alpha over an extended period of time, or he simply had been a dormant hyper recessive omega, we don't know his condition and the rules of this universe. Ian didn't FORCE his pheromones on him consciously, he literally threw himself into Ian's lap (by showing up at his front door). While ppl may argue that oh, well, it's not like Noah knew he was in rut, true, but then the same can be said for Ian, that he was in rut, but did not expect Noah to show up unannounced. I mean yes, Noah HAD texted him, but he hadn't even seen the texts, presumably because he was high in heat already, AND they have not spoken nor interacted at all since they had broken off their FWB relationship for some time now. And again, both knew Noah to be a beta (or only have beta-like traits because no omega traits had ever been expressed: no natural (sex-stimulated) lubrication, inability to accept an alpha's huge member, receptiveness to alpha's pheromones (especially rutting pheromones, serving the purpose of procreation), and going into heat).

His being pregnant was the result of a natural phenomenon of an alpha and an omega having sex, NOT that Ian had CONSCIOUSLY and INTENTIONALLY turned him into an OMEGA, and then CONSCIOUSLY and INTENTIONALLY forced him to have sex, AND with the INTENTION of marking him and impregnating him. I think you got this backwards. And like I said, IF recessive omegas in this universe is ANYTHING like in typical omegaverses it would have been very DIFFICULT for them to get pregnant, so this slim chance happened somehow, despite the odds. I don't know. We're not given very much information. Even if there were no such odds, the pregnancy happened due to a natural process between a rutting alpha, who isn't in control of his desires to have sex, and a beta who had turned omega and now is susceptible to alpha pheromones.

The ISSUE with people viewing Noah's pregnancy being hard on him is because INDEED Noah is poorer, and MUCH poorer than Ian. But in REALITY, many ppl grow up in poverty or have less than other people (well, the less than is always subjective, unless we're talking about below poverty level) but they live ok. I don't think Noah's family was particularly poor. Noah was smart enough to have gotten the spot to become a foreign exchange student, though we don't know if he had to foot the bill for the tuition or if he had qualified for a scholarship. We weren't given info about his economic condition prior when he was growing up, only that now we see him as a hard working omega father trying to make ends meet, and who has no family members to help raise his child. Ideally, he would have had some kind of a support network - a neighbor/s and/or friend/s who could watch his kid while he works - even if he has non-living relatives left, and cannot afford a babysitter. I've had a discussion w/ someone who claims that the reason why he is in desperate need to have a family of his own is because he has no relatives left. That's pretty far-fetched AND A HUGE assumption, YET to be PROVEN. Ok fine, let's say that's his motive, but it still doesn't make it RIGHT that he had decided to keep the child to himself. The child, by Rights, DOES NOT Belong to him alone. The child SEEMS to belong to him by the readers precisely because they sympathize with him and because the author portrayed him as this pitiful naive creature who's been taken advantage of. JUST because he's the one that got pregnant, had to carry the pregnancy, and give birth, and nurse the child, doesn't make the child HIS. But, guess what, HE HIMSELF had CHOSEN this route. NO ONE has forced him into keeping and raising this child ALONE. I'd sympathize with him if it were true that he had been forced to protect his child or didn't receive support from Ian. There was NO evidence that Ian will be abusive or neglectful. First of all, Noah's fear is UNFOUNDED regarding the child. He's almost PARANOID about it. Second of all, he Only has this fear because he had decided to selfishly keep the child for himself, making Ian into some horrible person who will come to take away THEIR child. If he weren't so selfish, he WOULDNT have been so (scared). This setup with the mom and grandma having passed away and that there are no other/extended family members left (aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews) leaves us feeling SORRY for the omega, but death is a natural part of life, unless they suffered horribly prior to their death or something. People grow old and they eventually die. He seems to have nothing because he has no immediate family members left, but at least he has that one friend whom he is working for. Again, ideally, you'd have a more extensive friend and support network. I don't know, low-income housing or something, handouts. Idk. Or a support group. Like, look at Ian, he has lots of friends (idk how close they are but normal ppl have an extended group of network). Maybe Noah's personality does not make him have extended networks or many friends. Idk.

Also, regarding his financial situation, let's say, as someone had said that omegas are discriminated against in this world, IF we follow the TYPICAL omegaverses AND ASSUME this is TRUE for this omegaverse, then ok, let's say they have a really hard time finding a good job due to omegas being discriminated against, and a pregnant one at that. But my conjecture is this: IF he had been university educated, and graduated w/ a diploma, then he has qualifications to work. Post graduation he could have applied for jobs like a normal person. In the months after finding out he's pregnant he could still work, until the pregnancy proceeds to late stage pregnancy that is showing and or hampering his work, he could have applied for jobs or to intern. And after giving birth he could, at some point, resume finding a job befitting of his educational level. Even if omegas are discriminated against, he's not dumb (got selected to go study abroad, only one seat open). He's educated. Even if he doesn't have work experience he could find internships at least. I mean, even if he needs to nurse the baby he still at some point can go back to work. People have maternity leaves for these reasons. They don't sit on their ass waiting for their child to be able to walk and talk before they go back to work. And let's say he can't afford a babysitter/nanny then eventually he can if he works hard enough. And as the child got older he can send him to a daycare center...Some ppl have questjoned why he's living with his friend & has to work so hard when he's college-educated, my guess is as good as theirs. Perhaps, aside from job discriminations, maybe his desire to hide from Ian is so great. Idk. So maybe he had decided to not enter the field of economics or business so that he doesn't run into Ian (remember they took the same course even though they weren't the same major, but their majors (business admin (Ian) and econ (Noah)) are closely related. So he has the brains, but maybe, MAYBE EVEN WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY is available he just decided not to. Who knows.

Noah is pitiful, but of his OWN making, really. The argument that Noah isn't pathetic because he "raised the child alone and didn't ask Ian for money or help in raising the child" is just BULLSHIT. He was IDIOTIC to deprive his child of his alpha father AND things Ian could have provided him. Such bullshit defensive arguments would not hold water in court. They said Noah isn't pathetic because didn't exhorted him using the baby...oh puh-lease, at THAT point be would have been just TRASH, not even pathetic. And he had CHOSEN to have kept the baby for himself. NOT asking for money, at least for the baby - even if not for himself, had been his SOLE decision. Even if he had asked, there's no shame in it. After all, if Noah is pure, he would have only asked for the baby, and it's normal to have both parents to provide for the baby. He was AFRAID of the repercussion of having been there and forcing Ian to mark him, albeit inadvertently, and now tying Ian down FOR LIFE. THAT'S what he should be afraid of, and probably is. Ian now would need Noah in order to have children, or MORE children, since they already HAVE ONE. Even if the baby wasn't around, the mark is still there. Even if the baby wasn't there, they are now mated for life. IF you look at it from an UNBIASED viewpoint then Ian, IF he had no feelings for the omega, or hated him in fact, then HOW do you think he WOULD have felt now that he's BOUND to him?!? I don't know... a LITTLE UPSET, maybe?!? If you were in Ian's shoes, HOW would YOU have felt?!? You're only seeing things from Noah's perspective. So it's VERY LIMITED and BIASED!!!

AGAIN, Noah had CHOSEN to raise the child by himself. Ian HAD NO KNOWLEDGE of his child or that he has one. You can't blame him for not having been there when Noah was the one that had chosen to flee and kept the pregnancy a hush hush. 1. He found he was pregnant AFTER he had already left for Korea, which was RIGHT after their graduation, which was the same day he had gone to see DoYoon. 2. He kept the pregnancy to himself. There's NO TELLING what COULD have happened IF he had told Ian. We don't know. A lot of people assumed he would have been an asshole to Noah, and would have taken the child away. Sure, DoYoon's pheromones had probably scared Noah, but he definitely had enjoyed the sex that night (or day) (or days - however long the rut went for), they both had enjoyed it, despite DoYoon's aversion for omegas.

They argued that he's wealthy enough to take the child, whom, btw, is THEIR child, not his alone, and not Noah's alone either. For some strange reason everyone is calling SiYeon "Noah's child". Neither biologically nor parentally correct. And is that bad if he's wealthy if living in wealth is BETTER than living in poverty?!?! Or low income like YeJun?!? What's the DRAW in THAT???

Ian's wealth affords him a LOT of things. Getting one nanny is NO PROBLEM, or to get multiple helpers to watch over him whenever Ian is working. There will BE no shortage of people who can be employed to care for the child. There'll be cooks so he'll never lacking in meals or nutrition. He will be well-fed and well-cared for. And he can enjoy things only the rich and famous can. Or at least rich. Hahaha. If you think futuristically, SiYeon would be offered a wealth of education that only dominant alpha families can afford for their children, he can afford music/art lessons, sports, idk, whatever other pursuits available for the well-to-do. He would have exposure to all kinds of training about life from a well-to-do and well-connected family, opportunities that the less-than-connected can only DREAM of. SUCH an advantageous life style, and yet deprived cuz of some selfish omega??? And in the future he can learn how to do business, how to form relationships and negotiation skills, he'd have the advantage of learning first-hand from his father, his father's social and business circle, things only avg ppl can dream of, which will boost his life and career(s). Why LIMIT his life cuz his omega father wants to hold him back??? He can take trips, go to the amusement park, take jet set vacations or whatever. Idk. Rich ppl stuff. There are many-a-thing which his alpha father can afford him. This, assuming Ian had been receptive to this at the time. And if he doesn't, again, Noah can always take him. And lest you forget, Ian had been forced to mark Noah against his own will, so both are victims of their nature & of fate (if you think negatively), a result of the NATURAL process of alpha and omega instincts to make children. The mate bond is essentially for the purpose of procreation, after all. And THIS is probably what Ian was upset about. Given that he had been mate-bonded against his will, he had been pretty chill about it. He said he's glad that the mark made his rut more regular (and maybe more manageable as well). I don't know how angry he is because I don't know HOW much the mate bond had affected his sex life or love life after he had been forced into this mate-bond. In some universes alphas can only relieve their heat with his mates, --and or vice versa, but then DoYoon was never interested in Omegas so maybe he's able to continue doing it with a beta. Anyways, originally I had thought it was selfish of him to come to Noah after all these years but it makes sense if you look at it from his p.o.v. At the time he hadn't even wanted to have a serious relationship (look at the Noah FWB relationship where he broke it off when things got too serious) and prefers to be with betas only, so 1. why would he have chosen to be with an omega in the first place? 2. Willingly and intentionally force said omega to go into heat? 3. Force the omega to have sex with him, mark him, and impregnate him?!? They're both victims of this encounter, except, ofc this WOULDN'T have happened if YeJun hadn't decided to show up at his house. And let's say, if Ian hadn't been in heat...then what?!? They'd just have SOME WEIRD, awkward "talk" before parting ways?!? I have NO IDEA.

He probably didn't think the omega could have been Noah because the last time he had sex with Noah (not the rutting sex) he had known Noah to be a beta (or if he had been a hyper recessive, then his traits had been dormant, so he's a dormant omega, and had beta-like traits). He even said this when he went to find Noah and accosted him, that "the last time I knew you you were a beta".

Noah didn't HAVE to be a single mom. He single-handedly chose that route (of NOT informing the alpha father). He also went into hiding. I don't know when DoYoon figured out Noah was his partner but he went in search of him probably when he decided he needed to find his mate to settle down with, or to have a child with. He said, "oh, you know, one day it occurred to me that this omega that had forced a bond with me might have gotten pregnant with my child, so I decided to come searching for him". He does SOUND like a cocky little bastard, but it's PROBABLY high time for him to settle down and get a child, but if he's already MATE-BONDED then more than likely he would only be able to have children with his mated pair. So, in a sense, he's stuck with Noah, whether he likes it or not. It's NOT all about Noah. It's best you see things from BOTH sides of view, instead of YeJun's skewed perspective due to his naiveté and feelings for the alpha.

Furthermore, people are already judging Ian to be a bad father when, what??? He had NEVER even KNOWN of the child. He's not a dead-beat father when the Omega was the one that had ran away, and had raised the child in secrecy because he was TOO SELFISH to inform his child's alpha father.

And like previous poster said, unless he's a psychopath or murderer, abusive or sleeze bag of a drug addict, womanizer, alcoholic, or whatever, then WHY WOULDN'T he QUALIFY to be a dad. And even if so UNLESS HE KNOWS FOR SURE some of these qualities will somehow endanger him & the child then yeah, he shouldn't tell him. But EVERY PARENT, as the poster said, DESERVES to know they have a child (well, namely the father, since the mom - unless drugged into a stupid should know she's pregnant (or he's pregnant - if omega)).

A LOT of people assumed alphas want to take the child to continue their lineage, but we don't know if that is true in this omegaverse or not. And we don't know if Ian would be ok with shared custody or NOT, WE ONLY now that Noah doesn't. The ONLY FEAR CAME FROM NOAH HIMSELF. Even if this is the case that Ian is coming after their child, so what?!? It's still THEIR child, not Noah's. And unless we see him LITERALLY taking the child AND preventing Noah from seeing him AT ALL, then that'll be a different scenario. (Right now, Ian HAD taken the both of them and separated them but it's only been DAY ONE of the reunion/confrontation. We haven't seen how it's going to be down the road.) And if Ian had let Noah go, who KNOWS what Noah will do?!? Keep on running??? And also, to assume Ian will be a bad father is stretching it. There are cases when the parents don't get along (it's called a divorce, a separation, or just being roommates) but still co-parent. Anyways, this child was conceived by pure accident. And what IF Ian had wanted MORE kids?!? He's now mated, or has been mate-bonded, rather, so what is he gonna do?!? Go fuck some OTHER omega?!? Idk, is the rule of this universe so transcendent that he can do THIS?!?

Moreover, both he and Noah Could have taken on some OTHER partners, but unless the mate-bond is SO STRONG that it doesn't even allow them to have romantic or physical relationships with other people then I really don't know. In the EXTREME case DoYoon, the alpha, have had to be celibate, and I'm sure this would not have felt good. (In most ABO most second genders in heat always need their heat relieved by the opposite sex, and even if not, at least alphas, who are typically more sexual and need sexual release, and imagine a young, virile one at that, how much he would have suffered. Although it seems Ian would have rather we suffer his rut alone than to be involved with an omega, or even a beta, and take inhibitors. I mean sexual needs applies to everyone. Not just alphas!!! But we don't know how the mark affects them. Anyways, the argument is over. Interpret it what you will. But don't call me names. I am, FIRST of all, not dumb AT ALL & I am not a bitch either. You can see from my analysis, that I'm neither defending Ian nor putting the blame on Noah, as Ian seems to be indicating. But you have to see the predicament on BOTH ends.

Noah isn't the victim here, Ian is. If we're considering ALL facets.

Both are caught in the cycle of being tied to their animalistic instincts, ruts, & pheromones, which is probably WHY Ian is diligent in avoiding all contacts with omegas, as seen in YeJun's observation of his only socializing with betas and alphas. Noah had said that Ian never approaches omegas, Most Probably because he doesn't ever want to be ruled by his animalistic instincts. Having a relationship with a beta prevents that. So yes, it is unfortunate they are victims, but not of their own making, but rather of who they are, a type of human ruled by strong sexual animalistic instincts, & thus, victims of fate. Sounds sad and deplorable. But it is what it is.

- so as far as the transformation, marking, and rutting sex, they're not same situation as when DoYoon was doing it consciously when he hunted down Noah, because he was at the mercy of his sex hormones & was doing everything unconsciously during his rut. Once the omega genes got expressed, Noah became receptive to Ian's rutting pheromones and became a WILLING partner to his alpha. And since he's now an omega, he can be marked by an alpha during rut, and is receptive to his sperm and which happened to cause him to get pregnant. You can say, oh, DoYoon came inside him so that caused him to be pregnant, but like Ian wasn't even conscious, and it was such a natural physiological response for mating alphas, but if hey've done it before when Noah was a beta it wouldn't have mattered, but now that Noah's an omega and a rutting alpha's NATURAL instinct is to COME INSIDE an omega IN ORDER to impregnate him is so strong it's hard to stop it, especially when he's not even lucid. If anything, YeJun was WAY more lucid, recognizing that DoYoon had called his name, and in the end washed the sheets and ran off even before the alpha even woke up. In a typical omegaverse hyper recessive /recessive omegas in general have very low fertility so the probability of his getting pregnant is very slim. Who knows, they just got "lucky". Luck - is relative, since if they wanted kids they now have one. And obviously since it wasn't planned then it could go either way - Ian rejecting his kid OR accepting him, back then.

I think this is a more nuanced conversation than you’re giving it credit for. I don’t want to downplay the role economic desperation and sexual coercion plays in sex work, but you can’t consider sex work a legitimate job AND say he can’t freely and voluntarily consent because he’s being paid. Kim Dan did not make an uninfluenced choice, but he is an adult who made an informed choice without direct coercion by Jaekyung (who didn’t even know the situation when they made the contract).

Yes, Dr. Dan was going through an economic hardship but sex work was not his only choice and he was not forced into it; he deliberated, he weighed his options, he sought out Jaekyung of his own volition, and even negotiated for almost 3x the monthly salary, before eventually signing the contract. That’s not sexual coercion. (And it’s a much better deal than the vast majority of SW’s get.)
