Notice the change of words. Before it was "beautiful, wise and cruel" then, "beautiful, cruel but tender" and now he says, " poor, silly and lovely Jesse" Oh how the tables have turned.
Aside from that, I found it really sad how the mother was literally telling Law she would pay him to stay friends with Jesse. I wonder if she knows that they're sleeping together and what would she do if she knew that Law already is aware of the family's little flaw.
And I wonder if Jesse got up from the dinner table and went away knowing full well that his mother would try to convince Law to stay here. This story is so addictive Im lovin it
