Teach still hasn’t learned a thing. Seriously, doesn’t he remember how Guwon loved that he was different from everyone else? The fact that he stood up to him and called out his ways as wrong, basically showing he wasn’t just cattle like the rest of them made Guwon see him as a 'person'. Now Guwon’s taken an interest in him… well, great for the plot, lol.
And dying won’t help anyone. This is so frustrating. I know the shock of everything that happened must be huge, but he’s not thinking clearly. Hopefully he’ll get some time to rethink his approach this time when Guwon saves him and takes him back to town again.
You're in no way wrong for this but I'd like to point out that Jinwoo isn't aware of this.
When Guwon explained why he saw him as special, it came off to Jinwoo as a self-centred statement rather than what it actually was: Jinwoo having gained personhood in Guwon's eyes by being different from the others.
Jinwoo didn't understand that him being different from the others was why Guwon liked him in the first place.
And you're right about him not thinking straight. He's overwhelmed with grief and confusion and he's trying to prevent himself from getting involved as to save everyone. But he's doing so w/o understanding what made Guwon actually like him and isn't even rlly taking it into consideration. He's just trying to remove himself from the narrative bc he recognises himself as the one who tipped over all the dominoes.

Guys, the author has masterfully dropped little hints throughout the story, right from the very beginning, about who Mr. Yeon is and how he thinks. So many of his choices have been made out of sheer arrogance and self-centeredness that it was almost inevitable that things would end badly for their relationship.
And we have to admit that Yeomin could be pretty stubborn in his own ways, to the point of hurting himself, both physically and mentally.
They could have had a good outcome if BOTH of them had been willing to take a step back and compromise, to meet each other halfway. Of course, the blame falls much more heavily on Mr. Yeon's shoulders than Yeomin's, especially when you consider the power imbalance in their relationship. Yeomin desperately, and rather naively, wanted to keep things neutral and on equal footing. But for the Mr. Yeon we've seen, equality was never really something he considered, let alone something that ever crossed his mind. This relationship was never meant to be an equal partnership in his eyes. It was about him being in charge, having control, and believing he had every right to maintain it. Because, above all, he never truly saw Yeomin as his equal.
And honestly, given the kind of person the ML is, it was almost impossible for him to take a step back, look at their relationship from a different perspective, and rethink his behavior. (Un)Fortunately (and hopefully!), he's about to get a much-needed wake-up call that will force him to realize just how wrong he was and just how deeply he's fallen for Yeomin. Serves him right! But the price Yeomin has to pay for this is giving up everything and running away, and that just makes me so sad. :(
I've never felt so maternal toward a character as I do toward Yeomin. I usually end up getting frustrated with MCs like him at some point, but Yeomin has really won me over. I actually find myself worrying about him, his future, and whether he'll ever get the happiness he deserves.
This story hits the perfect sweet spot between pure goofiness, real emotional depth, and the occasional bit of sensuality.
The character writing is seriously good too, and it just makes the whole thing funnier when it’s paired with that ridiculously goofy plot and premise.
But where’s their wedding though?? I really wanted to see how En would plan the whole thing hahah

I also read the novel spoilers and there’s some points I’ll just clarify some of them. Their first life, the FL and ML were lovers. He had waited for her for 10 years, refusing all the people urging him to take an empress.
FL’s child came to him saying he was FL’s son. ML misunderstood and thought FL had cheated on him. ML was upset and moved on, accepting the nobles who begged him to take an empress, marrying someone new and having a child with the new wife. He later found out the FL died and that the child of FL was actually his son. And he regretted it, following her in reincarnation of multiple lifetimes. The lifetime after that is the plot of the OG which is where he got with the sister. He had no memories and had mistaken the sister as FL, thinking she was the one he was chasing after. Assuming the sister was the woman he was looking for, he mistreated FL thinking she was just a villain harming the one he longed for. The demon took over his body during that death scene and that’s why he killed FL.
Despite the plot being pretty obvious from chapter one, I’m still enjoying it.
It’s a good read so far, the pacing feels tight, so I’m hopeful it won’t drag or throw in unnecessary side plots. I’ll keep reading.
