he’s making him realize that all this time— he could’ve just easily left IF HE WANTED TO, but he didn’t! he wants to end his anxiety and make him see that he truly loves him, sincerely wants to stay with him and is not planning to leave/“escape” from him
And i think also the pros and cons of so many locks, and looping it back to closing the cycle of locking him up for his safely years ago, to releasing him for his peace now
