Listen, the magistrate's actions are expected of someone of his position and I do not think that he is an evil person or anything like that but he is an ill-fitting potential romantic partner. MC has been escaping death by the skin of his teeth his entire life and the last thing he needs is this guy who thinks of him as a useful tool that he grew a bit of affection for. I know that they will end up together for sure, I just hope that MC doesn't just accept him as is and instead learns to be more selfish and self-serving to a degree

If we don't count all the long running series, among all the more recent manga/manhwa/manhua/novels I'm currently reading, this and "Star-Fostered Swordmaster" are both at the very top for me. "Infinite mage" used to be quite close but I don't even feel excited reading it in the past few months. So, I hope this one keeps the momentum going.
I really hope the association gets fucked and we don't get any bullshit like "oh they're not that bad. They are a necessary evil".
