Even if the emperor never raped MC or did anything to him other than kill that precious person, MC should never look at him with anything other than hatred let alone all this shit. Every one of these stories makes the correlation between the appearance of gates and hunters but this is the first, from what I remember, that goes down the route of "if hunters (or a select few of them who have a deeper connection with the gates) disappear then so will gates". It is interesting

What I despise the most about this is that the author is trying to make readers pity the disgusting rapist by having him show that expression and MC acknowledge it. There is no fucking way that a guy who has been forced on that machine for god knows how long to the point of feeling nauseous and then got violently raped, got his wounds ripped open again, and then was like "ok look at that sad expression. I'm going to choose this moment when I feel the lowest to reflect on how bad this rapist feels"

I was going to say I hate how MC talks down to himself and thinks he is useless despite being a strong caring reliable person....but then, I realised that everything that he achieved in wars and taking care of his people were meft behind. In this new place, he has nothing to contribute and is now finally a bit happy because he can relieve some of the emperor's suffering.

I hope this story eventually gives him more purpose beyond that...

The plot intriguing enough but I hate the romance part of it and wish this was just shonen instead because ML is so awful and at some point the story will probably have to make him get back with MC...that sounds dreadful

I guessed this was going to happen because Philip was obviously suffering and constantly on the edge and he only felt a connection to the Sahan who is the only person who understood his trauma. It's unfortunate that he committed suicide and lost what could have been...it's also terrible that Sahan is going to spiral now and bounce between shame and guilt for a looooong time

The story wouldn't have lost anything if the author hadn't decided to make ML a cheater. He could've just initiated a relationship with MC without the whole girlfriend bullshit, and this would've still had the bdsm element, the mild angst because MC seems to get attached first, and nothing would've been lost
