guys is it ok if your boyfriend spends the night over to his new coworker to console them and then he tells the sad vulnerable coworker "If I were single, I'd go for you in a heartbeat" but other than that youre silly boyfriend didn't do anything
Talk to him abt how you're uncomfortable with that. It /could/ be nothing in all honesty, but if he tries justifying himself, that's prolly a red flag (take w/ a grain of salt i have no experience).
Either way, judge him based on his prev behaviour and watch his current. In the end we can never tell what ppl are capable of and you know him best.
I know the world is healing when everyone has the most sane reply to this situation, thank you divas but this story isn't mine, it's actually a sequel for an established couple and I crashed out and needed everyones opinion

I don't remember much from the prequel but apparently in that one the bottom was also the insecure one so bottom being insecure again in this sequel probably sucks.
Anyway, that dialogue was given with good intentions. Top was trying to console a heartbroken coworker. You know how some people just know what they always know and it's a habit? Top was a player until he met bottom. Despite their relationship being exclusive now, his past is still in him. He didnt say those words to flirt. He just wanted to uplift a coworker with a bruise and very emotionally (and physically, based on implied snippet that he was raped the night earlier) hurt from an ex. Granted there are better ways to go about it but as mentioned, his brain was probably only capable of those kinds of dialogues.
Author shoulda made the player top be the insecure one in this sequel smh. See how his loose ass deals with a lover being close to another person. And bottom shoulda also lashed out more. The conflict was barely even their (the main couple) conflict and focused more on the coworker. Overall, what a weird sequel.
I believe if something is done unintentionally, it doesn’t erase the fact that it can still cause harm or have an impact. His coworker was in a vulnerable state and to say “If I was single in a heartbeat I’d go for you” is not appropriate not only because he’s in a relationship, but also because the coworker is basically a stranger and the ML doesn’t know if he’s the type to fall easily. But anyways I’m disappointed the MC will never find out about this inappropriate dialogue but yeah
I agree but I just think the complexity of the situation plus their background plus top's obliviousness makes it less offensive than what post people are implying. I've read the comments and most are considering top a red flag for that dialogue but we know he apologized and wasnt doing it on purpose. He learned from his mistake. I'll agree that what he did was not right and there couldn been better ways to go about consoling the coworker but I'll have to disagree with turning him into a bad guy.
Why is no one talking about how the top was bruised up and beat up 90% of the story? For the longest time I've put this off, even during covid there was so much hype and glazing around this and there still is to this day. I knew zero about the plot but I guess my intuition of not wanting to pick it up was kinda right. I only finished the main story but I really felt all those kicks and punches every time the mc would be physically violent towards the top. Maybe it was meant for comedic effect but I've never found it tasteful. The mc can be a power bottom and a bad ass without being physically violent towards the top which he never even deserved. It would make sense if the uke was violent towards every single person that pissed him off but he only would hit the seme repeatedly every other chapter. Feels like this is everybody's cup of tea but hey at least I gave this story a shot. But damn people chanting uke in dominated fields as if the top was some villain that deserved it is so off to me
I also didn't like that tbh
im thinking maybe the side stories will bring a different vibe? man I really wanted to love this story with everyone online listing this as their favorite but it just wasn't for me
I honestly don't remember them as I read it a long time ago
