I meant it in a being thrown into a woman's body has made him realise that he wants to be a woman in like an egg sort of moment (like when you hear those moments were people play the opposite genders in plays and it kinda clicks with the person) rather than he is a trans woman because he was a man and is now in a woman's body (because he is still a man if he thinks he is a man, despite what body he is in)
Idk about the knowing him when he was 5
I know the author included it as a bit of angst and a reason for them to have a close bond in such a short story
I think that's where the trouble lies, it's so short that they only have met a couple of times and the longest time they spent together was when one of the characters was underage
I know how hard writing can be, so I'm not going to be like the author could easily have wrote more chapters to develop their relationship more
But I think the story could have been less creepy(?) if it was
