i hate how penelope faints like half of the story lmao, like girl get ahold of yourself. i find it annoying when she always ends up being saved in the crucial moments, and can only close her eyes and scream like she can't fend off for herself.
penelope is poorly written for a romance female protagonist. just because it's a romance story doesn't mean women protagonist should rely on men all the time.
my second paragraph is a general comment on the trope.
penelope is a damsel in distress, she always ends up being saved by male leads that it's almost becomes a plot armor. it's poor writing. when a scene reaches its peak, it dies down the moment she gets saved. this affects the reading experience because it's a repetitive cycle, it's too predictable.
exhibit a: callisto saving her from the bear
exhibit b: vinter (out of the blue) testifying for her in the trial
exhibit c: callisto saving her in the laila hideout with vinter
exhibit d: the poison antidote
exhibit e: callisto saving her from the kraken
these are just a few things i've noted but the cycle is present throughout the story. again, poorly written.

this is so peak
