Think about it like this, the bible is like a manga, the contents of it is a story, fiction or not, lies entirely to the reader to interpret. In so, they apply everything they've read to reality causing their logic thinking skills to be of the category of "slippery slope".

As a Christian I think is anime not demonic being watching from since I was a kid and my mom is the same ᓀ‸ᓂ. She also thinks that anime is demonic and I have repeatedly told her it isn't. I have been to church so many times and never heard the pastor said the anime is demonic. I do believe they may think like that due to it being heavily over social media and they could just be mistaking it for hentai. That's true because of social media they may think that it's demonic . Everyone has their own beliefs but that doesn't mean you should say things like that to someone. Everyone is different and like different things.Their opinions doesn't matter if you like something and they don't that's their problem not yours. IMO its the same with the pdf - Im not defending this as well but in Historical / Medieval Settings when Political Marriage exist its a norm to have an age gap between parties in their time. Its not they like it but that exist before we even born. Its not glorifying rather than its a fact and indeed happens until now. Now we condemned its true because its horrifying but just because we dont like it doesnt mean we are ignoring history.

Yeah and that’s kind of a similar situation with ennead which has incest in it and is heavily flamed over it but in that kind of setting the manhwa is based on its the “standard” no hate love ennead. And I guess a lot of us who were reading in that time stuck with the whole “seperate fiction from reality” mindset.

For me - Just ignore the story if that really sets heavy on readers pov. Actually, I do that rather than feeling of rage get into me. Im kinda picky when it comes to what I read but sometimes I cant ignore that some stories has this type of scenarios what I usually do its just ignore it. I can see some stories get heavily flamed by this but lets think also in authors pov if they want something realistic in their work they need to add some facts/history rather than doing it perfectly its unrealistic to read. Especially we all know what history looks like.

Old school reader here: We didn't like it, but since BL/Yaoi stories were a niche subject/genre, we had no choice to but to accept it, but still grumble. And our grumbling did some good for awhile as we connected to international fans who had more contact with the mangakas and could bring them our dislike of the rape culture prevalent in their works. And it helped too. We stopped getting those rape = love stories. Yay!! But then came the ABO stories (I'm a fan) but I will acknowledge it set us back a ton!! >_< Then the new Gen readers came!! And I think they have a much larger dislike for toxic behavior in stories, so many authors started listening again to the voices of the readers and started to tone down such toxic relationships. Not that it all has disappeared and there appears a sliding scale of opinion on what behaviors constitute toxicity and needing to be called out.

One thing I do not like is when I'm reading a historical manhua and the ML has concubines or a harem and the comments turn against the story for having such a setting. Concubines and harems were a thing, please don't decry it when you see in historical settings. Heck, even in today's world there are 2nd wives, sister-wives, and throuples!!

people stopped practicing "don't like, don't read" or "dead dove do not eat" and intentionally consuming content that's upsetting them to be upset - everyone thinks the world revolves around them now and that anything they stumble upon is for them even if there are multiple tags, warnings, comments etc. pointing out stuff that may upset them
