omfg so lately i’ve been on a roll of binge watching a bunch of really long animes. and i got around to watching hxh and i LOVEDD loved loved all of the arcs before the chimera ant arc, like idk why but the beginning was super slow for me, and i already got spoiled for it all, most of my favorite characters in that arc got fucked by the plot (Shaiapouf, Knov and Gon).
But omfg i really really really need something like the universe of Hunter x Hunter, i really loved the world building, character design, character camaraderie, length of the series, and the art! Does anyone have any anime or manga that’s similar in those aspects? I’d prefer if it’s long, and I watched most of the more popular shounen anime’s already

Fmab was SUUPER good, i personally love the dynamic of the Elric brothers AND Winry! I actually really like most of the characters, my favorites being Alphonse, Roy, Olivier, Scar and Envy. World building is phenomenal, and honestly i like how kind of deep the plot goes! I really want to check out Gintama too, esp since it seems really fun and a great binge watch
(SPOILERS) Honestly, i’m more content with Edward losing his alchemical portal WAYY more than Gon having to reset his nen from fighting Pitou, and him regaining his body via Nanika. To me, it was just such a great way for Edward’s journey to end in FMAB and it made total sense! As for Gon, obviously meeting his dad was his goal and all but I can’t help but feel bad for Gon’s lost nen. And it just felt so meaningless bc there was no real goal behind that other than killing Pitou, it was just an act driven by pure rage and grief. Anyway sorry for yapping lmaoo
Perfectly reasonable yap lmao. IKK fmab was so good, the fact that they portrayed the world and all those well defined characters in like 70 episodes? And ik he was kinda annoying but i liked king Bradley too. No sob backstory just a villain. And obv the dynamic of elric brothers and winry was so good ╥﹏╥

Haha thanks! Yes honestly, the episode count compared to the amount of content in the anime is really well paced. And I totally agree, King Bradley was definitely a very interesting character and I think he was a GREAT addition to the homunculi! I actually think the fact that he’s a part of them really sold the plot to me because it really showed how deep the manipulation of the Homuncli goes.
