has anyone mentioned chapters 165-168? i'd forgotten about them completely. i'm going to throw out some ideas that are probably wrong but. oh well. so, obviously the beefy henchmen (gray head, he cheng, the third guy no one cares about) work for mr. jian, jian yi's father. by the phone call he cheng got in 192, mr. jian obviously knew something was going to happen to his son. in 194, jian yi came to the conclusion that his kidnapping was to threaten his mother. now, this is speculation, but both his mother and father don't seem to be the best of friends. in 195, he cheng said "we received that person's message", which i'm guessing is the call from 192. and i know the motive had been "explained" in 195 (he cheng said the kidnapper wanted to meet sir? mr. jian possibly?), but what did the kidnapper expect to achieve with a one-man army against a seemingly powerful man as mr. jian is made out to be? i mean, jian yi wasn't even a prisoner for a day before the muscle found him. how'd they track him so quickly? did the man leave a ransom message? am i missing something?
tl;dr? my conclusion is that everything was played out exactly how mr. jian wanted it to.
so am i the only one with no fucking clue of what's going on with lucaon's characterization??
He's conflicted and trying to deny his feelings. For one thing, he has both a magical whammy and trauma from the past, so he cannot process and express emotions properly. For another, I believe he is afraid, because he does not want to show a weakness or fondness for a servant ever again, and because the last time he loved, when he lost the people, he almost turned into a monster--so loving again is very scary.
And yes, he is still an asshole. These are just the reasons why, not an excuse.
Just remember that he used to be nice, and now he's an ass--so when he starts to kind of be nice, the ass part of him comes back.
what, from the bottom of my heart, the fuck
