crazy theory but i think lev’s actually gay and was in love with adrian. it’s the only reason for him hating her that makes sense to me, unless he just has MAJOR attachment issues

he doesn't blame the count for that cause she didn't cry at all at adi funeral and just went along with the count bullshit
that hurt lev, making him thinks he acted more of a brother than adrina and despising her for not caring enough for adi; while we know for a fact that she loved him, she just couldn't stay near him since the count only allowed educators and lev to be with adi while he was sick.
still lev isn't just a psycho, to me it's seems more brainwashed than anything (doesn't mean he isn't psycho either lol), we shouldn't forget that the count raised him to be the perfect dog and to marry adrina, so to him is almost a long waited prize to marry her and making her suffer from my pov

Lev got too comfortable with his privilege that he forgot even the countess couldn't say a thing towards what her husband did her own children she gave birth to. If even the countess couldn't change count's mind, why would he thought adrina could do to the count? When he knows even the count love him more than he ever could to adrina. If he indeed love adrian like a family that bad he could've do something but so far as i read the story i only know that he sucks up to the count and call it a day. lev is so full of himself for someone so egotistic and brainwashed it pisses me off so bad

i get what you mean, however i'm liking lev as a compless character so far (i'm near the middle of the novel)
he doesn't really hate her, i'm pretty sure while adrian was alive he had feelings for her even though he felt like a brother toward adrian, but with adrina just accepting adrian death and everything else, without crying or putting up a fight, it probably made him so angry that he actually wants to create a reaction from her
it kinda feels like he wants to make sure she actually cares and still feels things, idk how to put it, THOUGH IT'S IN AN EXTREMELY TOXIC WAY LMFAO
still, at the same time, he's fit to be grimaldi dog and plays his role, he doesn't really care for the count as he does with adrina and it exactly here that the brainwash is off, he's jealous of her and even if he follows the count's orders he isn't only loyal, he also can say no, so it may be more of him relaying on the count to have adrina instead of be a loyal and brainwashed dog
i think that the he's just being brainwashed by the count about adrina stand, why she accepted everything, why she couldn't stay with adrian as lev did, why she didn't cry etc etc, making lev thinks adrina is someone who actually isn't, making him angry

lev is just something he brought in so that he has a strong dog (even thought the count doesn't favor him, mind you) to make a strong doggy with adrina, the only real thing he cares about is the lineage, that's why he never adopted another kiddo

Just as Adrina grew up without really understanding and showing her emotions, without truly thinking for herself and just echoing whatever the count told her, the same goes for Lev. As I said he isn't really loyal to the Count but to the twins, he loved both of them clearly and when everyone just told him that Adrian died because of Adrina he just couldn't think more of it. He then thought that it would've been just right to hate her, like everyone else did.
Now, this is kinda a spoiler but we already kinda talked about it in this thread, but Lev doesn't recognize his feelings, he think this is about hate but it's in fact love, he just doesn't want to realize that. It's like a kid that has been promised to go to the park and then the father, out of the blue, doesn't take him there, he started to obsessing over the fact that Adrina will be his at a certain point. It's toxic as hell

I'm around 100~ chs in the novel and after talking to Adrina she make him realize that it isn't her fault that Adrian died, just like every other things, and we then understand that isn't that he didn't knew, but it was easier for him to deny the fact that it's also his fault and he just preferred throwing everything at her.
I'm hoping on a character development but it's getting SO goodヾ(☆▽☆)
