I still hate that this man is a rapist. I feel there isn't any redemption from that. He pressured our MC to sleep with him using money, physical abuse, and power. He hurt him so much that he even passed out a lot of had a fever. What a sicko! I do want to like and support the story and also his character growth but that's only possible if I ignore what he did. Idk if I really can ignore this. This is the reason I didn't like bj Alex either. Somewhat mean love interests? Okay. But love interests who assault the mc? No!
What if Ramona becomes empress and Tia becomes queen? Ramona can serve as the empress formally while Tia is queen and her child is named heir by Ramona. It'll allow Tia to still be with Perez while leading her family. Her first born son can take over as the crown prince and her daughter can become the next matriarch. I'm sure the family would be upset that Tia is technically a mistress but Perez wouldn't show any love to Ramona at all and they'd rule primarily as friends. Ramona could also take a love.
While that indeed sounds like the most logical choice at first, manhwas (especially historical romances like this one) have a penchant for jealousy, so I reckon none of their lives would be too happy. Plus, having a matriarch who is not only unmarried, but also a mistress, would probably be a big hit on the Lombardi name-- not for any love or favor that Perez shows as the emperor, but simply because she is still just a woman on the "sideline," and that gives her negative political power. Any children she had would also be immediately a royal, so she wouldn't be able to pick and choose someone to be strictly a Lombardi (and thus inherit as head of the family)... but that could be more easily resolved by just having her train one of her cousins' children as heir to the Lombardi name. So Gillian and Mairon better get themselves some kids lolol
And also while I don't condone how the other replies just spoiled it without warning, I have to say that that is a very unsatisfying resolution, considering that Tia would then have to shoulders twice as much trouble and drama. Being head of the family already made her grandpa work himself into an early grave on her previous life, so now she has to do that AND be empress? Talk about being a workaholic. That girl is going out EARLY
Bruh I'll say it again.
"This could possibly work if only Ramona doesn't have romantic feelings towards Perez."
You're not thinking clearly if you still don't get it. No matter how they bind themselves to contracts or whatnot, a person's feelings towards another person will deepen as time goes on. Sure, Perez will only see her as a friend whom he was indebted on (for agreeing to such affairs) but what about Ramona? She liked him. It's not like they don't have any obligations as Emperor and Empress.
And do you really think their families (Lombardi, Brown, and on Perez's side) won't involve themselves to such matters? A prime example of what I'm saying is the feud between Angenases and Lombardis. Do you really think the nobles won't take sides again because of such arrangement?
Plus it's unfair for Ramona to be tied to such situation when she could've a brighter future ahead of her.
For sure, this "what if" is clearly the most unhinged and unrealistic. My previous comment was pretty self-explanatory and I don't know how could you not get it.
Yup!
One way for Ramona to not have romantic feelings for Perez is for her to be deeply in love with someone else -> which can help the two of them avoid falling in love w/each other & maintain a strictly professional relationship, kinda like the emperor and empress in I Shall Kill That Sweet Devil
'Course, I know this carries it's own complications, but it's fun to muse & speculate sometimes (only in fiction ofc)
Honestly, Tia becoming queen kinda makes me queasy 'coz it does carry it's own set of problems.
But I suppose, it'll be the "less evil" option since their society isn't ready for a strictly professional relationship between Emperor & Empress
(^_^) V
While that may be true, this isn't the case in this empire. Which means Perez would have to change the empire's law (?) after ascending to the throne– and if he's to do that already, why would he change it in favor of polygamy instead of just straight up making it so that he can marry Tia without further problems?
Bruh this ahh is pretty unhinged ngl. First you introduce the term "Queen" and then now the term "Polygamy". Both terms unheard of and both concepts aren't applicable in the manhwa. In an instant, this doesn't apply now as a "what-if" idea, this went similar those of a wack. For a "what-if" idea to become plausible or even likeable (to say the least), one must bear in mind the facts of that manhwa -the worldbuilding, its characters, and concepts applied. Introducing a concept unheard of or even barely applicable in that manhwa is a nutcase of its own.
The way he treats her is horrible. He's always getting an attitude with her over stupid things and throwing fits over her behavior. He insults her at every chance he gets but has the nerve to get upset that she doesn't feel attracted to him. He sexually assaulted her in the bedroom under the excuse of pretending to be a happy couple when in reality he wanted to see how she'd react. He's treating her like a toy but has the nerve to expect her to fall in love with her just so he'll leave her? If she's simply a placeholder for your proper wife why even care about it? All of a sudden he's sad that she has found her place and doesn't challenge him anymore. He's so annoying! He's downright abusive!
Lady Gastella is a super honorable person. She should've killed him for what he did but for most awakeners his behavior was completely befitting of a follower of theirs. He was trying to eliminate competition but he didn't get her permission first. Most top tens would've been grateful if he would've done it successfully but instead he caused a headache. Gastella still let him live despite this because she raised him up as one of hers and didn't have the heart to do so. She took responsibility for his behavior and promises to own up to it and has taken steps to protect Jiwoo from him. What a woman.

He's so sure she will want love but she's just a sex crazed airhead! Everyone is warning her about overstepping and scolding her but she's just nodding and smiling. I kind of find it sweet how she's so happy about everything. She was being bullied at home and not loved by her siblings or her parents but she still wasn't phased and just made the most of it. She even had to be arranged to marry but decided to just be happy with a husband who's her type and crazy good in bed. It must be simple to be happy when you're dull.
She isn't dull, she is resilient and knows what she wants. 2 traits we all should have but often lack.
