it is a sensitive subject more so one where jaxx needs to de extensive research to write the theming because even within the u.s many schools teach the civil war differently like for example the lost cause theory. this theory is a pseudo-historical one and many teacher out there would teach it as something factual. if you have twitter i recommend reading ‘splover1863’ debrief on the pre release. they go really deep into detail about everything.

The problem is the author is using traumatic history as a light background setting as well as a tool to make mc look good. This history is not about white people and will never be about white people. To make it appear as such is disrespectful to those who actually suffered for a century.
Do you think that because this is just the first chapter the author might delve into it more?

As a lawyer I can really understand how beneficial his subspace is. Time is literally of the utmost essence and the MC is someone who is willing to put in the work to use this to it's complete benefit. Oh how I wish I had something like that
oo since you're a lawyer I have a question. Do you ever take cases where your client is guilty? if you do find out, could you drop their case or what do you do? I understand it's work there's probably a lot of guilt when you would have to defend someone guilty right?
If you a litigating lawyer there is always this underlying sense of losing some of your morality because while yes you can leave some of the cases by requesting removal, until you are truly successful enough to be in a position to refuse representing some, one day or another you will end up defending a person who seems guilty. People get really really desensitised because if you become too emotional it's not a profession you can practice
