I just reread everything and I absolutely love how much MC dotes(?) On Tojou lol, he's so nice to his brother's wife (lol), I just love their in-law relationship
On that not, I love how authentic the brotherhood is between MC and Ayato, very real brother dynamic. I just know the author has a little rat of a brother lolol
I lowkey can forgive Eckles, bro is 17, had his whole family and country destroyed, got enslaved, suffered so much torture, and then he falls in love with one of "enemy". He loves her enough to abandon everything: revenge, his people, his freedom, and knows he can never be loved back, even before all his mistakes, she was only using him. I get Penelope was dealing with her own problems, being hounded by death at every turn, she was only doing whatever she could to survive. But objectively, as her slave, the power dynamic of it all, could really only end one way....it was never gonna be love. So he is now having his fears and anxiety amplified by a mirror and bewitched to commit these wrongs. If I recall, he had all the intentions to showcase his swordsmanship and become a commoner by his own efforts but it was only after Yvonne brainwashed him that he started going askew in his actions. Was there ever a moment he was never enslaved? First his body, now his mind. I suppose his ending in the book was the only way for him to be truly free of any shackles
Agreed, even I was annoyed at Penelope in the middle part, though I tried to be understanding of her because of what he went through—so it’s kinda a given for her not to trust anyone so easily. But then again, Eckles went through worse, as well. Not just his kingdom, but his whole family getting annihilated, and then sacrificing his relatives just for Penelope, even though Penelope didn’t ask for it. Perhaps if things were different, Eckles could have been the kindest and sweetest man. I have a soft spot for him ever since he was introduced, but not it’s difficult for me to bring myself to side with him. I’m so curious about the ending! Though I’m excited for Penelope and Callisto to end up together, lmao. I love Callisto’s humor sm, and just his overall character.
I have always liked him, ever since he was introduced I was rooting for him. I love Callisto and Penelope together, but I wish she wasnt so thoughtless of him, she was always so dismissive and negligent. She knows that, which is why she feels guilt towards him. I know she basically had no other choice, but I wish she hadn't been the one to buy him TvT

Bro really straightened the largest intestine and small intestine
