I don’t know about this. I think I agree with many of the comments. This guideverse feels very shallow and naive in comparison to how guideverse is usually depicted. Not to mention that it’s very difficult to highlight characters who are really similar to each other. The reason why childish,golden retriever top x taciturn, gloomy or serious bottom (or viceversa) works, it’s because it allows for a more dynamic relationship when developing the characters’ personalities. But in here they’re both shy, gloomy and quiet. So, it becomes boring? Idk I think guideverse is a more complex and dark world building. Trying to make it positive and “healthy” makes it mild and plain. This is one of those BL where you can read when you have nothing else to do and don’t need to think too much about it because nothing much is happening plot and character development wise.
Idk I have mixed feelings about this one.

But as a dark theme enjoyers first time I’m saying this: the rape was absolutely unnecessary in this story. In THIS story, the author could have chosen an entire different topic to explain their separation. The gangrape was not it. It took all the fun away from the story. It ruined it. I will continue to read bc I love both characters. But man what a way to ruin the fun.

Bro is HILARIOUS bc Kay is actually in love with Zigril. He has been for years now. What he hates is that he’s in love with someone like Zigril. He hates himself. He can’t bring himself to admit he fell for someone as careless, selfish and mad as Zigril bc Kay thinks he’s better than that. That’s why he’s never been able to say no to a woman either. Because he thinks he’s a gentleman who’s always there to protect the weak. And he sees women as weak, fragile flowers who need love and protection. That’s the image he has of himself. That’s why Zigril will need the mirror. That’s the only way they can give a closure to this story and explain why Kay was never actually capable to stay away from Zigril. It’s all been excuses on his part. Kay needs to admit to himself that he’s not better than anybody and that he fell in love with Zigril despite all his flaws.

Danrim deserves all the support. Plus, borderline is the first BL in YEARS that checks all the boxes of preferences in BL for me. It’s like she’s inside of my head. I like both Nanjo and Mokyeon’s personalities, character design, color palettes, kinks, development of the story, two tops fighting for the bottom but ending in love with each other. It’s truly a very specific kind of story that doesn’t read too heavily but its character focused rather than plot focused and I LOVE that.
