nah it doesnt hurt that much. for me it was like an ant's bite and it'd sting for a few minutes and that's it for my lobes. i can sleep on the side of the new piercing around 2-3 days later and did almost no aftercare for it.
i have 5 piercings on each ear (4 on my lobe, 3 helixes 1 daith, 1 conch and 1 flat). if you're thinking of cartilage pierc...... reply
