Overall a 3/5 for me. Dark Romance specifically- 5/5. I wasn’t pleased with the ending. BUT I CAN ADMIRE that this is a TRUE dark romance. It started off REALLY good. I will say in my personal opinion it got a bit lazy at the end. But I can understand if it was meant to be a short read from the beginning. WOULD recommend, WOULD NOT read again. It’s not to my taste in the end. But still a good read if you want to read something that will make your stomach curl lol.

He’s not ugly, but he definitely looks like a 2ML. I opened ch. 1 just to see. It’s just hair style that’s really ugly.

I’m only on ch. 19, but I feel like the time line is INSANELY FAST. Like don’t get me wrong, I don’t even read slow burn or stories that drag. But they literally just met??? And he suddenly loves her? Like there’s damn near NO depth. Like it started good, with potential. But something about this just screams shoujo. And the only reason it’s got a Josei tag is bc of the theme and STARED OUT CUSS WORDS??? As someone who fits the age group for Josei, and personally aged out of Shoujo, I felt in my gut a few chapters in that this was Shoujo coded but because it deals with abuse, killing, and torture, it got a Josei tag based on that ALONE. Idk if I’ll finish this because it’s just falling short in my personal opinion. I strictly do not read shoujo bc the themes irk me at my age. So this one may just fall into the cracks.

Idk, this is kinda giving me the ick somehow. I stared reading this when it first releases and took a short break after and am just now coming back and to bed honest after reading some other stories and coming back here, it seems kinda mid? Like it’s a regular story and all but ty he re m not communicating and walking c circles around each other is just not it for me right now . She really could have been honest with him when she made the plan to. And Aaron isn’t off the hook either. He does the same shit. It’s just kind of tired I guess plot wise. Art is amazing aaaaand smut is cool but storyline rating brings this down to a cool 6/10 for me and doesn’t have a potential for me to keep up/read week to week.

Wow, what a beautiful piece. I mean this story was wonderful. Written in a lovely way. Even the side stories were amazing. I can’t say that I have read any other Yaoi written so nicely. I saw some people say that they wish Lyle had made Ash suffer a bit, but I think the way he went about it was spot on with his character. I do agree with another comment that mentioned that Lyle may be on the spectrum. Even so, the way he is written is so good though. Definitely a 10/10. And I don’t give that rating lightly or often. I also wanted to touch on how the side stories added even more depth to the couple after the end of the main story. It’s a great “Afterward.”

What’s really annoying me rn, is how she just CONSTANTLY looks down on herself. To the point that she doesn’t even want it to be known they are seeing each other. She wants it to be a secret. It’s annoying atp. I’ve defended this story in the past because people would say that this is written by a man, for men. And I really didn’t take that from this story. Yes it’s long winded and some chapters are 75% monologue/internal thoughts. But the constant degradation is starting to irk me. We at ONE HUNDRED CHAPTERS IN. And they’re just dancing around each other it seems. I think I’ll drop it here and maybe come back in 6 months again.

I think with the end of s2, I won’t be back to finish this. I was already really bummed out about them having sex and fl not being able to figure out her dead husband is actually her instructor. That made me not trust her narrative as a character really . But everything after that has kind of felt like it’s dragging or boring to be frank. So, I MIGHT come back to read this if say I randomly think about it. Or see it. But more than likely I will won’t. Overall it’s interesting, but for me personally the story falls through when she isn’t able to identify ML even after intamcy.

Another case of Stockholm syndrome. I mean, the situation itself is messed up. But to CHOOSE to stay with a man after he , r4ped , tortured you, as well as forcefully turned you into an omega so he could so? Well what else could it be but that?

I gave this a chance because it was mentioned in a new manhwa that’s ongoing right now. For a moment I thought this was going to end in tragedy. But I am happy it didn’t. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It had my heart racing in nervousness, excitement, even anger at one point. I like that kind of writing. I also had to grow on Theo as I felt he wasn’t expressive as I’m used to. But after getting to know his character I noticed the subtlety, body language, dialogue, etc. I also enjoyed how the story touched on how Theo was a part of the war that destroyed Seth’s tree, and there is genuine regret on Theos end. And we get to see how Seth forgives Theo for that. And how he and his people are a peaceful people, I really enjoyed this 5/5 for me.

So first off, this should have a “dark romance “ tag. MAYBE. But for sure something that notifies people this is a dark story.

1. Valery repeatedly rapes Asil throughout the entirety of this story. I don’t know if the 80 chapters is it, or if there’s more to come. But absolutely nothing happens in the first 60 chapters that even hint at Asil liking what’s happening to him. He is raped and beaten by Valery. Over and over. That’s the hard and honest truth. At no point does he ever say he likes it nor does he consent. The only time he actively seeks Valery out is when he’s trying to make a bargain for his family’s financial stability.

2. Valery actively rapes and ENJOYS causing Asil pain during the time frame mentioned above. Not only does he beat and rape Asil, Valery tries to mentally break Asil every chance he gets . He calls him a whore and play thing, but for some reason is surprised when Asil refers to him that way.

3 Whenever Asil tries to make a friend or even is talked to by someone of the opposite sex, Valery becomes anxious and violent. And again, resorts to raping Asil. If it seems like I’m being reparative, that’s on purpose because I really need whomever is reading this to understand that 90% of the interaction between the MLs is Nonconsensual . Like not even dubcon just flat out sexual assault.

4. I’m assuming Asil has a lot of pride, a trope I enjoy is when the MC threatens to k ll themselves in order to get the person pursuing them’s attention that they would rather die that endure. It I suppose in this story Asils family is what kept him from doing that at first, but once his sister betrayed him, and lured him back to Valery after 2 years , Which is MUCH later on, that would have been the time. OR maybe when his brother went off to study abroad. I mean it was still rape at that point. And Asil even takes a poison vial from what’s his face to slip in Valerys drink. We’ll never know if he would have actually done it, as Vallery found it first, but id think Asil would have done it given he stabbed Valery before

5. I genuinely think this is a case of Stockholm syndrome because there is no way realistically that you could fall for a person who violated you over and over to the point of you expecting to be hit when you talk back, and when you aren’t hit, you ask to be hit. I’m also not really sure I understand why Asil took the promotion to Lieutenant . I do understand by that point he was kind of resigned to his situation but I mean this is just crazy. I’ve seen some sick shit, this wasn’t as bad graphically/visually but I felt sick reading timst of this/the sex scenes. And even much much later when it starts being consensual, if you can call it that. It felt off. Forced even.


6. Bottom line is Asil should have escaped in Jenuka. He shouldn’t have come back to Vallery. And this should have ended in tragedy for Valery. He literally just raped Asil over and over until he decided he wanted Asils heart. To which we even see enternal monologue from Asil being frustrated that now not only does Valery want him to open himself up to him whenever he wants it like a whore, but he also wants his soul. Valery starts to “reflect” on what he’s done, but it can’t even be called that really. Not the beginning. And even as of ch.80. He makes a deal with Asil to let him go if his heart hasn’t swayed in a month , and when he awakens from jumping from the 2nd floor to save Asil, and doesn’t see him around. Valery immediately says he will find Asil and won’t honor the promise they made. Only because Asil has NO ONE, not his traitor sister, his horrible father, died at birth mother, or even his younger brother . Does he start developing “feelings” for Valery. It’s sinply Stockholm syndrome.


This was a hard read for me. BUT written well. I’m assuming we’re supposed to hate Valery. I personally am not forgiving him. I mean he’d trash. Motherfucker hasn’t changed really, no redemption, and no apology could ever amount to all of what he’s done to Asil. Seriously. But I do want to see this through to the end. So I’ll stick around to read to the end. But the 3/5 rating will stay regardless. Whomever cooked this up is banned from all cookouts and from touching utensils.
