I love the story and the romance, just wish it focused more in the psychological aspect of miyeon. Unpopular opinion on the romance, I like it but I don’t think in the future they could really work together. Juho has the role of a caretaker and not a lover, “don’t hide things from me” doesn’t feel romantic, it feels like he wants to make sure she doesn’t get bad again, and you can love someone and want to care of them, but juho’s image of miyeon is completely tainted with the times when he had to act as a caretaker and that’s really hard to forget, he will be constantly afraid of miyeon getting bad again or losing her memory and it’s hard to be in a relationship like that. We don’t really know what juho wants for his life because he just thinks of her and acts surrounding her.
There is obviously a piece of her memory missing regarding the fire and the fact that juho is still holding back and not telling the whole truth just makes me distrust him. I know there is probably a reason why he is not telling it, but it looks like he just doesn’t trust that she can deal with the truth.
I think this is a story about growth, memory and letting go, and at the end, when they both grow and find things they really want to do, I don’t know if they could work together. Right now the do need each other but it’s a very childish need.
This is just my opinion, feel free to express yours

    I absolutely agree with you!
They clearly have positive feelings for each other. Maybe they even love each other, though I think Juhos love is a different one from Miyeons love at this point.
I believe Juhos took care of her all this time because of guilt. He wasn't there for her when she needed him most (fire incident). Maybe that led him to promise to never leave her alone again.
    So he became her caretaker.
All these years of reading her mood, taking care of her basic needs and every whim, coaxing her to eat, preventing her from committing suicide.. etc.
Year after year. That does something to a person, I think.
I got the impression that he likes being needed by her though. There were hints here and there in the manwha. Only because of him is she still alive and well today.
His sole role atm is the caretaker.
    The sinner.
    The repentant.
    Not the lover.

I'm sure he loves her still. In his own way though. Not passionately. After all these years of taking care of her every struggle, I don't think you can still be crazy in love. Not when the whole situation stems from his guilt in the first place.

The biggest obstacle for their future relationship will be trust issues in my opinion.
A relationship doesn't run solely on feelings. They change, they run out.
A relationship lasts in the end because of mutual trust and respect and that all the little memories people had together formed a tight bond.

At this point he is still the caretaker. As you said, he will have trust issues for some time, fearing that she will get bad again, that she will forget their time together and forget him, again and again. He will continue to read the mood, fix the mood. Prioritize her needs over his, over and over again. That's actually a prime example for a toxic relationship.

For them to work, I believe we need a time skip. Where he can pursue his dreams and become his own person again. He needs to stop being the caretaker and become just Juho again.
Only then should they try to date, if that is what they both still want then.
I wouldn't be mad if they found they better just stay as friends! Because that's how life is sometimes.

Completely agree with everything you said. I also think he knows that pursuing a romantic relationship is not the wisest decision right now, but he still yearns for it so he can remember how things were when they were younger. I think he does like being the only person she can rely on and that can get very toxic very quick. Also yes, the time skip is necessary

I really like the story so far (ch 25), my only complain is the way they’re handling the revenge plot. I just wish it was a little bit more angsty and realistic, for someone who has been plotting revenge his whole life he gives it up so easily for the fl who he met a few months ago.
I kinda understand if it’s presented that he is just someone with a good heart who doesn’t want to get other people involved in his actions, but he’s not presented that way.
We know in the original novel he betrayed the crown prince (his close friend) and in his pov he even considered torturing the fl’s father to get the information he needed out of him.
If he just fell in love with the fl and that’s why he cares for her I understand, but the romance doesn’t really feel earned since it’s been so quick, and if he just blindly adores her it takes all of the fun out of the character. I was hoping to see the internal struggles he would eventually have with his revenge and his love for her.
I understand this is more of a light and fun story but this is just my opinion.

Um..... you should continue reading it, gurl I don't want to spoil anything but what you just read is only the tip of the iceberg right now lol

this is why you should read the story first until the recent chapters before forming an opinion

I’m still reading (ch 112) and I like it, but something about the way the conflict and the war is being handled is leaving me with a weird feeling. It’s kinda strange to see a character like Estelle be presented as a fool who didn’t realize that the country she was protecting was corrupted and the the people ruling were evil.
Idk if I’m explaining myself correctly.
When I started reading I hoped she will pick up the sword again, or any weapon that will make her feel as powerful as she felt when she was a knight, I understand if her body was so weak and holding a sword might be difficult but they have showed us that she has physical strength, and plenty. It feels now that they are trying to convince the audience that she would have been better off never becoming a knight or learning how to fight. It makes me so sad.
I don’t like how they are talking about her in these last episodes, saying that if she really cared she should have betrayed her country, the country and the people she dedicated her whole life to, and that she killed innocent people that were accused of treason even tho there weren’t guilty, that she was just a dog, and then showing us how the people that gave up are thriving now. It’s vastly different from the treatment they gave zed when it was revealed that he was ordering the execution of children, why can’t he say no? Why can’t he refuse to follow orders?, when he is awarded with grace and understanding, they say Estelle should have known better and should have refused to follow her king.
A small alarm is going off in my brain and it seems like there is propaganda of some type going on. Idk if I’m exaggerating, probably. They can’t convince me that the war was not beneficial to the winners, that the losing kingdom was evil and that the people are far better off at the mercy of another emperor. “Poor citizens suffering from oppression of their rulers, they should just surrender to another kingdom that certainly does not have any ill intentions”
Also saying they were kind enough to not change the laws of inheritance already established there, what bullshit, how kind and generous.
It feels that they are trying to get any ideas of independence out of Estelle, that she shouldn’t be looking for revenge and should just accept the defeat, For the sake of her relationship with zed
I don’t think they will just make her forget it but it seems that way, I hope they prove me wrong.
Finally, I know it looks like I don’t really like the story but I love it, I’m just worried about where it’s headed.
Any comments criticizing my point of view are welcome, I’ll love to get different perspectives. :)

Okay I think a was a little too drastic with my opinion, I have changed some of them.
Besides that, I find this story utterly depressing, I love it, but it’s so sad watching Estelle drifting away, truth is she will never be Estelle again.
The fate of most of the characters in Estelle’s past is so doomed, the knights she fought alongside, with whom she laughed and spent so much time with, will probably never see her again, with a constant reminder that she is so far away living as a lady of the kingdom responsable for the death of their comrades and the fall of their nation. I’m happy they don’t resent her for that
Estelle reminds me of Tashi from challengers, I couldn’t understand why she wouldn’t at least try to practice with a sword again, but now I now why. If she can’t be the best then she won’t be at all. Like tashi who suffered an injury that meant that even if she practiced she will never be as good as she was before.
Realistically I think Estelle will forever miss herself and her past, I don’t doubt she will be happy with zed, but the life of a lady was never meant to be hers. I’m happy she has found something to life for, but I can’t help being sad for her. Every time I see a flashback of her it’s like watching a different person, the way she spoke, her wit, her confidence, it’s been all stored away in the back of her mind, she is now living by the rules of high society. Estelle the knight I will always love you and you’ll be remembered :(

I'm I the only one who truly prefers the red haired dude, tbh I think romance is kinda unnecessary but if I had to choose, I would choose him.
I like ash but he seems kinda bland compared to the fl. I don't think she will live the life she wants if she ends up with him, if he becomes emperor she would be tied to a position she doesn't really wants.
The red dude just seems like a better pairing for her. I also like the fact that he's older since she is mentally like 30 something.

I respect your opinion, but I would like very bad things to happen to the red head. I've been praying on his downfall since day 1.

+1!!! Ever since Undine died because of him (even if she came to life later on) I hate him to death.
