I don't know if people are relating to it but the other comment also mentioned that this just doesn't justify his actions. I mean Rose loved edger and he wanted to help his brother because he was conditioned like that and had a good heart. But rose could have saved edger. I don't know if novel had explanation but I don't think there was any restriction on Rose to help without asking. And we don't know if rose was in love or just jealous of Niel otis that edger cared about his brother more than him, his friend. It could be his infatuation

I think it doesn't only not justify it but makes it worse, Edgar wanted Rose to take care of his pos brother instead Rose cursed his whole family line to live in misery...he really didn't understand Edgar
I think the only reason why rose asked edgar what he wants instead of do whatever he (rose) wants ro do is because rose respect edgar, like he genuenly wants to make edgar happy, and I remember rose afraid that if he lift edgar's illness and force him to live for eternity with him it'll only caused misery for edgar (I believe it's mentioned in the manhwa...?)
