I mean Rose loved edger and he wanted to help his brother because he was conditioned like that and had a good heart. But rose could have saved edger. He does end up giving his title and wealth to Dantilian, because it is the only he can give it to his daughter (now Sherina). Dantilian intends to stand by Sherina's side and marry her eventually (hence why he needs standing to able to do that, since she is part of the Crown family), so as his wife she would be entitled to everything and their children would inherit thereafter. So they both win (Dantilian gets to be with Sherina and Asmodeous gets to indirectly hand his wealth and land to his daughter).

He also doesn't hesitate too much on handing the title over since he is also dying, I don't think he ever reveals that he was Hella's father to Sherina, since that chapter of her life has closed and he doesn't want to drag her down with unnecessary baggage.
