i like how you can see when the curse is in effect and how to others it looks like he’s indifferent but in reality it’s causing him mental turmoil
The curse only activates WHEN the siblings are in danger and he HAS to save them. The curse doesn’t activate when someone asks “yo lets go fetch some horses and go look for Thalia” and u stand there as a statue. Most of the time Varkas is in control of himself and his decisions suck ass so he sucks ass
except here you can visually see the difference in his eye color almost like it’s representing a trance like state… i get not trying to excuse horrible mls but his curse is to prioritize and show complete subservience towards twins.. so it makes sense why he’d enter a “trance” when seeing thalia. his first instinct which could be to rush and help her, actively conflicts with the curse to prioritize the twins.
Man miss me with that BS. U people see hot looking characters and suddenly u are poets, literature graduates. U study psychology and are great at reading everything. Literal cope mechanism right here. The curse is mainly to protect the siblings. Only in danger situations does he have to prioritize the twins ONCE THESE fuckers are safe and sound like they were he can runnn to Thalia. He didn’t cuz he doesn’t rlly care.

ngl i wanted to love this so bad like the plot is right up my alley but when it came down to actually putting the idea to paper something about the writing gives lazy and boring. i only got to ch.13 so maybe idk what im talking about, but please lmk if it gets better later on. right now every character seems nonsensical.

Ngl it’s hard to catch the full essence of a novel when it’s been adapted to a manhwa. There’s only so much that can be added into manhwa’s w/o being overbearing ╥﹏╥
despite all the criticism i really liked this, it’s not the typical picture perfect fl did her best but ml resented & mistreated her story
can a novel reader tell me how far we are into the story compared to the novel, like is this still the beginning? have we reached the middle? etc
we are honestly far from the middle. to compare,, we are basically chapter 44-45 out of 290+ in novel.
is it just me or do the characters look more like children each chapter ? i get they’re young but swear there’s a babyface-ification happening here
characters of this autor just have this sort of manga big eyes and baby face in general. so to me they just look like young adults that they are
a whole lot of riftan sympathizers in the comments and ykw i get it he’s a complex character and w/o his POV his actions can misunderstood/misconstrued , BUT despite all that let’s not act like he’s some saint. a big reason a lot of people hold disdain for him is his lack of communication and his treatment of maxi. yes, he might be considered a “good” husband for the time period, but it does not make up for how his actions portray him to the readers modern mindset.
this !! he may have good intentions, but everytime maxi communicates that his actions are actually causing her stress and make her feel lesser than, he literally ignores it and continues treating her like a child
