Honestly this is such a realistic chapter. Even if JJY wants to change, the fact is that it’s hard. He’s lived a certain way his entire life. He got used to treating people a certain way. He’s never worked on himself or learned how to regulate his emotions or rein in his aggression.
Wanting to change doesn’t equal changing. He is going to need to put true work in. He still isn’t putting others first. He’s letting himself and his feelings take over his actions without thought. Yeah it’s disappointing, but I think this is a pushing someone away for that own good type thing. Without any thought for the consequences. KD should go and make a new life and ignore his violent unregulated ass, but yeah. He’s probably gonna leave and get kidnapped by the old guy.
Even looking at the author note for 27, I didn’t get the impression it was meant to be a relationship at all. The child has an innocent crush and the teacher is just like: what a cute little dude.
Not that these stories haven’t taken horrific turns, but I got the feeling that this one was just meant to be a little crush.
However, if it was meant to become something mutual…insert mushu dishonour skit.
I could be sooo out to lunch but here’s my thoughts. The story about the wife murdering the husband. That was his mother with the previous Duke. No children since they never knew one another biblically. Then she got knocked up by MC’s dad.
This means that our ML is actually half brother to MC. Obviously Ain is Ian (anagram for the win). It doesn’t feel like revenge since he seems into it. Maybe the only positive interaction in his life was with MC at some point.
Anyways. I choose to assume no red herrings here. I’m interested in what others think as well.

I have waited so long and it didn’t disappoint!!!
