These comments about Sangjun being ML make me shudder. Sangjun cut off Jinwoo the whole time during their initial conversation. He has no respect for Jinwoo, and talking over people is just rude. Ugh it would be terrible for him to be the ML.
Clearly Jinwoo needs to vacate the town, start a new life, and stay away from men for a while lol.
In a way I imagine Sangjun is pretty angry at the moment. He just killed his pal, (the way he called red head a stupid bastard seemed endearing to me), he buried both hounds even tho he could have left their bodies on the floor, set up grave markers, and wasn’t laughing/having a jolly campfire with the rest of the group. And now he looks like he’s taking his anger out on Jinwoo.
I appreciate that the author didn’t make Jinwoo jealous of the woman hugging Guwon’s arm. It’s nice to see a character really sit in their feelings and taking in what just happened without having their thoughts wonder between loving a bad person and being jealous.
I’m not sure if it’s because I have an anxiety disorder but people writing comments about Jinwoo being an unreliable narrator because he’s ‘crazy’ is making me pause. Cause in real life people with all kinds of mental illnesses experience their lives just as normally (and perceive it accurately) as others. Jinwoo is so careful. He questions all his thoughts because he knows he has gaps in his memories, and reflects on the feelings he has when they don’t match the situation. He’s doing his best to understand the situation with all the context he has. Even if he does end up being ‘wrong’ that isn’t a reflection of his sanity but just not having all the information. I think theirs a difference between not having all the information at hand vs ah can’t trust the dude cause he’s ‘crazy’.
To me at this point the cause of Jinwoo’s fathers death is inconsequential in to relation to Guwon. We’ve seen enough of Guwon being violent to understand that he is indeed a murderer. Cause the potential of the story being a delusion as experienced by Jinwoo is lacklustre. lol always hated the ‘it was all just a dream’ kinda stories.
Also how did Guwon clean up so fast?????? Does he carry spare clothes, water, rags, and soap on missions??? Cause I appreciate the hygiene safety.
i think for the unreliable narrator thing, people just want a well written BL which isnt just about the sex and romance so we are overcomplicating a plot of a story than it actually is. i mean if we go back to first chapter youd see that jinwoo is already covered in bandages and injuries before guwon even rescues him, he has more going on than he lets on. Also not to mention, that one chapter where he sleepwalks and ends up on top of guwon with a knife? The way I look at it is; he was the one who harmed his father and his subconcious is suppressing the memory ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Also i do think unreliable narrator might not be the word for this context but someone used it in the comments and everyone latched on to it cause it sounds better than amnesia or wtv
I’m still stuck on the title. So Sisyphus, clever man, evades death, and out smarts a bunch of gods, who then is condemn to pushing a rock for eternity.
Here, hounds is an insult. Like what if it’s literal lol. Guwon is a zombie thus evading death, thinks himself superior to others. He’s got his hounds, and everyone else are puppies. Like is Jinwoo Thanantos? Trapped? But the title makes it seem like the story is more about the dogs than Sisyphus. Is this a story of the villagers revolting against Guwon/Sisyphus?
Is Jinwoo Sisyphus? Stuck wondering about the morality of liking Guwon? lol forever lamenting his choice of man?
Also what’s the timeline for this. Has Jinwoo only been in the town for 2 weeks since that’s how long the hounds are usually out for? Cause for Jinwoo to process all this in two weeks is like impossible. Poor guy.
I read this story cause it was recommended to me as a green flag, wholesome cutie patootie situation. :(
The disappointment I felt when I saw these characters first ‘sexual interaction’ was rape - ugh. I should have been wary cause the text already came with non-con instances.
Now with the recent chapter we got unfortunately another rape scene. :(
For all the people who recommended this as a cute, wholesome story to me -rude- but why was the first rape scene in chapter 1 not flagged as a problem but the one in chapter 7 is?
I ask genuinely cause this story was recommended by l other bl readers as a completely wholesome story.
Like for me a review like wholesome cutie patootie green flag is reserved for stories like Our Sunny Days.
It would make more sense for this story to be reviewed like, silly non-con action romance or something.
Thank you! :) The like to dislike ratio to me is inconsequential. Genuinely trying to understand why so many people are bothered by the newest chapter when this whole story has a bunch of non-con and a previous rape scene. Honestly, no judgement - I just don’t get it. The surprised reaction is surprising to me.
In chapter 3 Guwon has the same coloured eyes as the zombie thing he punched. And both eyes look like the on in Jinwoo’s dream. Jinwoo’s eyes aren’t white but they also go shiny when he’s in a trance. I wonder if that relevant????
Also it’s cute how Guwon‘s dark circles disappeared cause of Jinwoo. Hopefully being less sleep deprived will make Guwon a little less violent lol.
Ugh my heart. Jinwoo’s response to this is totally reasonable and I can only imagine how intense these conflicting feelings are.
I don’t know if I’m infantilizing Guwon or not but he really seems like a blank slate. He’s got no memories of his past, is uneducated in so many mundane areas, but he genuinely seems like he wants to learn.
I don’t remember the chapter but when Guwon wakes up from his head injury he’s stressed but excited about Jinwoo calling out his actions.
The people around him are shaping his behaviour - but maybe with more exposure to Jinwoo, the children, and the rest of the community he comes to have a more humane mindset.
Guwon seems so easily manipulated ugh.
Let’s say Guwon 100% killed Jinwoo’s dad it would still be exciting to read how that trauma is handled, and how those two characters change.
Them not ending up together but still both being alive would be acceptable to me lol.
The introduction to the cousin had me ready to fight. An affluent business man coming from a wealthy family abusing his employees with no consequences enraged me to no end. Realistic and infuriating.
(Honestly hated that the ML came from this background as well cause we know that people in his position in real life are essentially evil walking in human bodies).
Seeing cousin being abused I think cemented the rational behind his anger and abuse to others. Given the nature of his background he was already raised believing he was better than others - and like many other rich people - most likely saw other people below his status as objects. This type of apathy plus his own personal abuse creates the perfect conditions for unashamed acts of violence even in public.
Now in real life I know nothing would change.
I don’t know if this will happen, but I think the idea of a centuries old dragon, powerful and intelligent, with an interest in humans, providing therapeutic support to one of the most cruel types of humans is hilarious.
Granted this is a fantasy story so nothing is impossible. It would be fun to see the cousin mellow out and become a better person who helps others. (And maybe with the help of the main cast work together to save the ML, and also dismantle corporate systems lol).

I really hope Teach is just having a nightmare! Guwon being inhumane and violent is one thing, but I can’t have him being a sex pest too. That’s too depressing.
I think he's having a nightmare too. A lot of his sexual Guwon dreams did involve Guwon being a stereotypical BL top. And from Previous chapters we've seen Guwon cares about making Jinwoo feel good too so Im hoping it's just Jinwoo being anxious and having a nightmare.
