Yeah it's true. BLs kind of lose its charm I know. I don't know about you but personally the BL which made me restart yaoi again was "1995 youth report". But that's just me. I quit reading BLs after 2021 (I like buff bottoms, and no significant age gap) but during those times age gaps was a thing, and buff bottoms were rarer in manhwa. (I remember reading Cherry Blossoms after winter during those times and gaslighting myself that the uke is not THAT much of a twink lol , yeah it was a bad time to be a buff bottoms enjoyer). I did enjoy full volume back then, mainly due to SMUT (lmao). Nowadays I just read whatever. I like a good buff bottom pairing with either friends to lovers or bickering to lovers dynamic with virgin4virgin leads. But that's just me. And q995 youth report is like, all of this. So I was kind of locked in for this. Haha. I don't know if this is your taste or not, but I js shared my experience. XOXO peace out!!

I feel the same way recently, BL has lost its touch for me. Gosh I used to be so addicted and read BL or Shoujo like a madwoman. Nowadays all the new BLs are so boring and filled with unnecessary tropes, I find myself skimming more often than ever. I used to be a super picky reader. If I saw one plot hole, stupid trope, bad art, or bland characters then I was gone. Nothing is ‘change my life good’ anymore. I was introduced to BL very young and it was all very exciting at first. Now, the story has to have any one of these things to move me: be earth-shattering, have depth/nostalgia, or light up my heart with it’s wholesomeness.

i feel you!! tbh sometimes i take long breaks from reading bl manga/hwa/hua and just read some danmei novels instead since ive been struggling so hard, for a while now, to find a constant influx of good bl to read
