i feel like i'm losing my mind reading some of these comments acting like jinwoo is some overly possessive person who doesn't want to let his boyfriend have any friends, like are we even reading the same story y'all for a lot of the arguments against jinwoo to have a leg to stand on, we would have to pretend that yeonseo has not been behaving provocatively with daehan on purpose. we would also have to pretend that he hadn't clearly communicated his problems directly to daehan already, and we would have to pretend that he's unaware of his feelings of jealousy and that he hasn't been taking steps on his own to overcome these feelings despite him rightfully feeling miffed about being blown off repeatedly. in truth, the main problem really is yeonseo, but yeonseo wouldn't have even been able to get his foot in the door with his behavior if daehan were even marginally more aware. i haven't seen one person here say daehan can't have friends or be close with his friends, but allowing his friends to do what yeonseo did (on purpose, mind you) in front of his boyfriend is completely insane. some appropriate distance simply has to be in order no matter who you're dating. idk about anyone else, but i'd never want to see my partner with somebody hanging all over them, whispering in their ear, and putting their fingers all over their neck and beneath their collar #sorry
I agree with this 100% Daehan allows people to drag him around even in the midst of important conversations, and that has allowed for people to mess up countless relationships he has been in (especially the jealous seniors). He has a lot to work on and Jinwoo did well communicating what was bothering him, Deahan didnāt even hear him out properly. Their issue is definitely communication and a lack of boundaries with friends and peers.
exactly. it's truly kind of awful seeing jinwoo continue to put daehan first even when their relationship is hanging in the balance and daehan can't even tell his friends to wait in favor of a conversation that he recognizes to be important, but not important enough to miss the meeting i guess daehan is really really close to understanding what he needs to do to make this relationship work but seeing him continue to just barely miss the mark is so frustrating. i really do not want jinwoo to be the one always chasing after him and being the bigger person while his feelings keep getting trampled on like
Right like pls get a grip thereās definitely a time and place for friendship he had every opportunity to make his boundaries clear especially when it came to him prioritizing his man and making him feel secure, but Jinwoo is starting to feel like a booty call (to me) with the way Daehan is acting.
clock it because it gets to a point. me personally, if my partner hit me with "then let's break up" i'm really not one to chase and plead and beg. like if you want to leave, then don't hold back on my account lmao let's not hold each other hostage in a relationship one of us doesn't want to be in anymore. it's even worse because daehan didn't even mean it so you have to look at jinwoo and ask him if he's really going to let daehan play games with his feelings like this like it's time to stand up brother. it'd be one thing if they were teenagers but they're in their 20s, that's gotta be old enough to know better than this...
Right I would never let a person say some ish like that and still be standing around them like ROSA PARKS AINāT DIE FOR THIS anyways we all know Jinwoo is going to stay and beg but I really hope to see some sort of improvement from Daehan cause he had enough time and enough relationships ruined to be able to recognize he has a problem and needs to mature, hopefully this is that time.
nerd project and now this... is there some kind of gene for light-haired protags in bl manhwas that makes them do stupid shit all the time or something. what's going on. i can't even say i see much fault in jinwoo's behavior because he spoke pretty plainly about the problems he was having with daehan's behavior, just for daehan to hear only what he wanted to hear (though i do think he should've expressed his concerns earlier). what really twists my nipples about it is daehan DID hear that jinwoo was feeling abandoned because he always comes second to everyone else...just for him to go to seunghoon about this instead of speaking to jinwoo directly, so he quite literally learned nothing from any of that.
i so desperately want to be gentle with daehan because i really love his character but jinwoo was one hundred percent correct in telling him that he's dating a man and asking him if they're even dating. like, does daehan mean to tell me he wouldn't feel some type of way about it if another man came onto jinwoo the way yeonseo was coming onto him? he's pissing me off so bad with this, like pay attention to what's happening around you omfg atp if they break up for real, it's truly on him and i want him to grovel if he intends to get jinwoo back because none of this should've happened. jinwoo's reaction was super tame, too. it wasn't like he was fire-breathing mad, he was just rightfully upset watching another man feel his boyfriend up while his boyfriend lets him do it like an idiot because he's "friendly." like oh okay, he'll be friendly directly into your pants with his hand up your shirt and then what? don't piss me off.
to follow-up with this because i feel like there are too many people who aren't understanding what jinwoo's problem is: it's not about affection between friends or even a cultural difference between the readers and the characters (which...they're all korean, so if it was a cultural thing alone, then jinwoo wouldn't be having any problems at all and yeonseo wouldn't be attempting to weaponize it). it's about jinwoo's affection as daehan's boyfriend being illegitimate. what's the difference if his friend is doing almost everything jinwoo is doing as his romantic partner? at that rate, it all but indicates that daehan is not taking their relationship too seriously in jinwoo's eyes, even if it isn't true. it'd be one thing if yeonseo truly were just trying to be friendly, but he is doing it to be antagonistic because he knows it would be effective, so talking about friends simply being affectionate is moot point to be making here anyway lmao
luke is actually out of his damn mind bro as an optimist, i understand wanting to give people a chance and assume the best rather than the worst of them, but when you keep having to make excuses for another person's bad behavior, it makes YOU look stupid and untrustworthy ā¹ you can't call a person's consistent sabotage of you a mistake, even more so when you literally know that he's doing everything he's done to you with intention because that makes it even worse lmao. being overly suspicious and skeptical is also not a good way to approach others, which is why balance needs to be struck and why luke and andrew are foils to one another. that being said, i would really really really hate for luke to have to find out the hard way that not everyone is deserving of his trust just because they've been friendly to him previously, and i would hope that bruno would reconsider his behavior but his continuing to hide the chip from luke doesn't instill much faith in me lmao. if this turns out the way i think it's about to turn out, this isn't about to end well for anyone involved
Hereās my perspective. Lukeās stance is more neutral than full blown forgiveness. His stance on good people having bad moments isnāt to let go of the āmistakesā but to leave room for āredemptionā or from Andrewās perspective danger. Iāve known a lot of good people who got to very low points (addiction, abusive relationships, etc) in their lives that werenāt very good to me at those times. Actually put me in dangerous positions. Some picked themselves up and made amends and some I had to let go. But never have I regretted being there for a friend when they were obviously battling something. If Lukeās not ready to let go of the relationship and wants to give Bruno the chance to prove his faith in his good nature wasnāt misplaced allow him. He knows now what Bruno has been up to and should at least have his guard up with him but Andrew harping on about the rest of his friends sounds like just a push to isolate him. Andrew may want only Luke but Luke has a thriving social circle and connections outside of Andrew that are just as important to him and he has to come to terms with that.
i don't disagree entirely (what i do disagree with is the notion that andrew is actively trying to isolate luke from All of his friends; i think andrew is just not expressing himself very well in this regard, and his skepticism over bruno in conjuction with his attachment to luke is making it look like he's telling luke that all of his friends are out to get him when he's really just saying he himself doesn't need anyone but luke despite luke's efforts to integrate him with his friend group, but i digress), but i'm still really stuck on luke claiming bruno's actions were "one or two mistakes." i can't truly view that as anything but naivety, especially in this situation where the risk isn't only applied to him, but to people around him, too, for continuing to give a known untrustworthy person a chance if bruno will lock him in a storage room and make him memorise an impossible number of scripts on purpose, what else is he willing to do and how much farther is he willing to go? in the end, he still didn't come clean about that picture when he had the opportunity.
now, luke can't be aware of this, but i think he isn't lending enough credence to andrew's concerns and it's a little unfair because he's already seen evidence of bruno sabotaging him i don't think andrew has been perfect in all of this, and even andrew knows he hasn't had the healthiest approach to his clinginess, so to speak, but luke is simply too trusting here. he doesn't need to go full nuclear or anything, but i didn't really see an indication that he would be more cautious around bruno after this, which is lending to my, and i imagine others', frustration with him in this chapter. but all we can do now is wait to see what happens next, so i won't make too many snap judgements and maybe he'll prove me wrong.
so many of the comments here are completely insane. i truly do wish life was as simple as some of you seem to see it, but for your sakes, i hope none of you are ever put in the position hyeonji and haebom would have been in because i know me and my mother had been and i know what it's like to stew in such bottomless grief. watching a family member waste away in both body and mind didn't do anything but leave my mother in a gaping financial hole and leave the both of us with long lasting trauma.
should hyeonji have still been given a chance to have a say? perhaps. but let's not sit here and pretend like haebom's father is some awful and evil person for not wanting to force someone he loved to watch him suffer and wither while she was helpless to do anything for him. he left without a word because he knew she would have followed him otherwise, regardless of what he said. a 40 year battle to full recovery is not a miniscule amount of time spent, no matter who you are, and the struggle would have been the same with or without hyeonji and haebom there, yet the misery would have been tripled if they had been present. no one has to like it, and even haebom's father is still saddled with immense guilt, but he made a decision many people would have and currently do make to spare the people they love of suffering any further than strictly necessary. that's not cruelty; that's kindness.
Frrr, cause people really don't understand that watching your loved one slowly die or slowly forgetting you and what you went through together is devastating. How could they think he was SELFISH when he decided to go through all that alone without the woman he loved to spare her the sorrow. Not that what he did was good, but it wasn't because of his "selfishness", at least that's what I think
THANK. YOU. SO. FUCKING. MUCH. Some people here acting like its a very simple decision to make but i get him, if you are on the verge of dying, you will think about every possibility and i think you are allowed to be selfish at that moment, especially when you know it's the end for you. (But i still dont think his actions were selfish, i just think he is allowed to be selfish despite what some people say)
exactly! like if it were me, i would want to do something similar because i'd hate to spend my potential last months of life watching my loved ones cry over me every day, only for me to miraculously survive it but i spend the majority of the rest of my life not remembering who anyone is. it's truly a situation where nobody wins.
the life incheol is living is so humiliating to the point of being unbearable but it's because he has such a strained way of living that i'm really anticipating how pyeonghwa might be the catalyst for change for him, and how he might change pyeonghwa. the chemistry they have is literally so crazy, and it seems a little like they're both already in a state where they can't really get the other off their mind and they can't detach from each other easily anymore either. i feel like if they come to love each other, it won't happen gently, not when it's already this intense

was hayato dropped on his head as a baby. honest question
LMFAO
