I placed Pearl Boy in my want to read, but ngl kinda scared of how fucked up it is and hence have avoided it every time it pops up

Gig of the day is pretty awesome

- borderline (boundary of delusion on here). threesome warning but it doesn’t last for too long
- hit me hard. uke is the whore but i also haven’t read it in so long idk what’s up anymore
- respect for taste. uke is also the playboy. disliked him forcing the seme to slim down to his ideal body shape but rakes do make the best husbands and the virgin slayer sweater is awesome
- alphega. the top has been around to the point his club is basically his hunting ground but everything changes when the uke walks in. i would hold on for a bit and let the manhwa marinate but the novel is complete and it’s a great read

I read it because of the hype in 2023, I could bare all the toxic stuff because the ml was green flag but near the end ml became a darker and more ruthless person. The rest of what I'm gonna say is spoiler so beware but so the thing is there were twin brothers who contributed to the gang rape of the mc so ml kidnaps one of the twins and gets revenge by making the twin get raped and tortured by other guys. I mean no matter how bad they are, no one deserves to get raped. It was terrible, to think that ml could do such a cruel thing. I still kept reading but the end was so confusing and bittersweet. At that time fans couldn't understand if they were alive or dead but it looks like mc and ml didn't die cuz we got lots of side stories and extra chapters after the end. Anyways I lost interest so I didn't read the sides. If you ask my opinion, I don't recommend it unless you like torturing yourself. It's another toxic bl that got hyped for no reason. There are lots of amazing stories but sadly people don't appreciate them ╥﹏╥

omg pls read alphega (again: read the novel and let the manhwa marinate a little. the adaptation does skip some of the desire/lust but the current translator is a fan and it’s such a breath of fresh air compared to the mtl fights we often get). both leads are experienced but if you’ve read define the relationship or borderline/boundary of delusion it’s more like that. the uke is experienced just never bottomed before. he treats it like a duty tho bc he’s super respectful to omegas. seme has been around like literally their first meeting uke is scandalized it’s great

I agree that some of them r being unfairly criticised bc ppl lack media literacy but let's be for real A LOT of them do deserve the criticism bc they depict things like rape which is then not condemned by the narative at all, e.g. Jinx (this isn't the only one obvi but it's v well known atp so it's a good example) at which point they r normalising these things. Also ur COD argument is a logical fallacy bc most ppl talking abt the effects of reading these types of stories on rl aren't talking abt such an extreme result so ur making a false equivalence. To explain this in good faith, let's say ur rlly young as a lot of ppl getting into yaoi r (or someone older that this applies to) and so u don't have the best understanding of consent. Reading smth w non-con that isn't outright one of them saying "no" and the other doing it anyway may therefore skew their understanding of consent which would then carry on into rl. Or u read yaoi w "milder" cases of non-con/dub-con which as someone w a good understanding of consent would be clear immediately but then u read more extreme yaois which cause u to think that the ones u were reading before aren't actually that bad, therefore normalising the "milder" cases in ur mind. I mostly used SA as an example but this also applies to abuse and other such themes. As a result, the criticisms of these types of stories are 100% justified imo but if u wanna read them no one's stopping u. Just scroll past the criticisms the way ppl w ur mindset say to stop reading it if it bothers u ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ (sorry for the rant but imo this type of mindset can be damaging)

upset that some would immediately deny a good work (great plot) because it contains unsanitary themes.
It's just also sad because I like to see comment sections discussing stupid details of the plot instead of seeing this is rape every 2 comments.
