…I never really liked any of the pairs. I thought the best fit would be Shuri or Mai - and Mai was clearly a barely ok pair based off familial logistics. I also was ok with him not finding a love by the end of this story. I AM NOT OK WITH WHO HE ENDED UP WITH. SHE WAS LIKE 12/13 when he 1st met her and 15/16 when he leaves on his journey. It’s all ICKY. It’s icky! I hate all of I skipped the last 20 something chapters cause by 100 I could tell this was going to be end pair and not some other muse situation or “I love you too but not the way you do” cause low-key she was kinda like a mother to him at times. Sigh. I’m struggling with “is it isn’t it” an art changes. Unlike some art changes this one is more subtle. So I can’t tell if the artist had to change how gorgeously detailed their art was because of health or time (I’ve had other works where the art would change because the artist was dealing with a health issue or injury not because the artist changed) or if they just replaced the artist. And while the new art isn’t BAD - in fact way better than some art changes I liked the original so much! The newer art change seems more gun shy with the female leads body and draws “simpler” or “sorta chibi like images more often”. Plus the original art seemed, mmmh, more raunchy? Risqué? I guess that’s how we could say it. And this seems like they scaled back on that almost like a shy censorship. Which is sad, the more risqué art at the beginning added to the story. I’m really hoping the art change is cause of an injury and not a replaced artist…but my hopes are low lmao

The mangaka is 57 years old. I started reading skip beat in Middle school. I’m 30 now. So. It’s understandable to me that she isn’t able to bang out chapters. And she doesn’t want to do a disservice to the story by ending it before it is supposed to. Likely this is the last manga she draws.
I do think she is nearing the end of this story. After Ren deals with his past and they can be together the story will be over I am sure. Or we will see a time skip into the future where she is a thriving actress married to Ren (≧∀≦)

Kyoko is still a love me section member that mean she isn t even considere as a "strong actress" yet, her goal is to get "bigger" than Sho who is in the top first and international. Doing a "Time skip" would be skipping the main point of that story (how it begin and the conflict Kyoko has to resolve).

Let's say Ren deal with his past, and now he is ready to let her know about him being Kuon. The conflicted feeling about "breaking the fairy world of Kyoko" and litteraly assuming he kind of hide it from her even if he did meet her as Kuon a few time and told her he look like Ren cause he is a fairy! It would take a loooong way to go, unless Kyoko found out about it, then we will get her internal conflict as well about OMG that mean REN is a FAIRY NOW!
Same with Kyoko chicken identity! Will it be reveal? At some point she can't keep that away from him at some point, and Chicken Kyoko is like his therapist.
