…I never really liked any of the pairs. I thought the best fit would be Shuri or Mai - and Mai was clearly a barely ok pair based off familial logistics. I also was ok with him not finding a love by the end of this story. I AM NOT OK WITH WHO HE ENDED UP WITH. SHE WAS LIKE 12/13 when he 1st met her and 15/16 when he leaves on his journey. Sigh. I’m struggling with “is it isn’t it” an art changes. Unlike some art changes this one is more subtle. So I can’t tell if the artist had to change how gorgeously detailed their art was because of health or time (I’ve had other works where the art would change because the artist was dealing with a health issue or injury not because the artist changed) or if they just replaced the artist. And while the new art isn’t BAD - in fact way better than some art changes I liked the original so much! The newer art change seems more gun shy with the female leads body and draws “simpler” or “sorta chibi like images more often”. Plus the original art seemed, mmmh, more raunchy? Risqué? I guess that’s how we could say it. And this seems like they scaled back on that almost like a shy censorship. Which is sad, the more risqué art at the beginning added to the story. I’m really hoping the art change is cause of an injury and not a replaced artist…but my hopes are low lmao
I saw the trigger warning. Ik what im going to read. But it still triggered past feeling. I've been clean for years. Got past, healing and move on.
