I mean...he said in earlier chapters that he couldn't blame her for cheating. That's how bad, nay, non existent their relationship is.

He's the one that ignored his wife for three years. Even if she had cheated who is he to get mad? He can't even claim that it is within her nature to cheat on him. He doesn't know shit about her, and never gave her a chance to know shit about him.

It's not just this one action of his that he has done so far. He has been consistently making up his own ideas and refuses to listen to anything she says, often gaslighting her and putting her down to get what he wants. I get that he was shocked that she had conceived but he is outright refusing to listen to her. This is why people are pissed. He has his complexes and issues and projects them onto her constantly without even attempting to listen or improve himself, their relationship even after he has seen what they do to her in his absence first hand. THIS is why people hate him.

Yes. Exactly this. Plus the pregnancy fiasco was also partially caused by him. If he had been honest with her from the start, this wouldn't have happened and she would have understood but because he refused to tell her anything, she was given god knows what to induce symptoms of pregnancy and now he accused her of cheating. Eventually, they will find out that she was never pregnant, and the only hope she has gained will be snatched away once again and she will be left with a husband who once again refused to listen to her and called her a cheater. Even if he didn't directly cause this, he is somewhat responsible for this.

But yeah I agree. It's gonna get rough. This is gonna push her over a cliff. She's already committed suicide twice. Without the baby I doubt she will want to carry on. I mean to have a husband that accuses her of cheating, and then to have parents in law willing to deceive her like this. She is a pure victim, she's done nothing worth this much pain.

@Mece and @Zapphire the both of you stated nothing but pure facts. He has his own dark past but that doesn't mean he should be free of judgment for the way he has neglected her for 3 years. So busy wallowing in his own self pity that even when he's witness and discovered the hardships and abuse she's faced firsthand he still ignores her, talks down to her and continues to project his hardships and insecurities. He deserves the hate he gets.

I don't blame Violet for her suicide attempts because being treated this way by someone you genuinely love can drive anyone's mental and emotional state up the fucking wall.

Honestly, I don't get why people are defending Winter since the beginning. Put an ugly guy in his place who isn't the ml but the abusive asshole she's trying to get away from WITH the help of friends/ family/ potential love interest, and then we'll see how many people are willing to understand him and his circumstances and are illing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Cuz he has been a jerk from the start. People already didn't like him.

I agree with you, am just adding that since we know him to be the ml, some people might also be biased cuz of that. But I think that what you said about lookism is very valid, especiallyw within everyday life
