This is just a theory, but I have a feeling that Jaekyung will feel too ashamed to keep Kim Dan around. I think he will set Dan up for success with a good new gig because he realizes he doesn’t deserve to have Dan by his side. And then it will be a separation arc…where he will grow into a more mature and better person while Dan heals and gains independence. Then, when they can truly be more equal, when Dan won’t need to rely on Jaekyung’s finances, they can finally have a fresh start at getting closer and trying to date for real.
Ofc this is just a guess

Poor Chase. The next part is one of the most heartbreaking scenes. I can understand why some would think he was being dramatic here, but when you get to see his mental state, you’ll realize how scared and exhausted he actually feels.
Genuinely, when it's all out together, he has every right to be as mentally and emotionally damaged as he is.
Do you know what chapter this leaves off on in the novel? I want to read it but I don’t really wanna reread the stuff I’ve read from this manhwa. I’m assuming you’ve already read the novel so if it’s not too much trouble
I have read the novel, but it's been so long. If someone else doesn't have the chapter, I can try and find it.
Side note -- this is one story I'd actually recommend reading in its entirety. There's a lot of subplot and depth missing throughout the story that really gives you a better view of both MC and ML. (Also, the fight to get Chase back post-kidnapping felt waaaay more bad@ss in the novel.)
