What is veggie tales? I was inspired by a hilarious photo someone sent me of a deformed potato ... LOLz
Veggie Tales is a Christian children's cartoon show about devote cucumbers and tomatoes. It would not shock me if there is slash VT fanfic, but the creators would be scandalized.
But for fun: I think Asami is a cucumber and Aki is a sweet potato.
Okay, ummm, Christian veggies - creepy.
I see Asami as lettuce or an onion - many mysterious layers. Aki is more of an artichoke - kind of prickly on the outside, tender within. Souh is a potato - stoic and solid. Kirishima is broccoli - many branches of expertise. Sudoh is a brussel sprout, small and not tasty. For the others I still need to think ...
Really, this is what's come to? Vegetables? You people have waaaay too much free time on your hands, surely there are better ways to fill up your time than pondering what vegetable Asami and Akihito would be.

I find most vegetables detestable. Now had Hanne said FRUIT, then I would've been on board because I'd compare them all to peppers. It's just a matter of what degree of hotness (Scoville Heat Units, or SHU) you would choose for them.
I'd put Asami at the hottest: Carolina Reaper-- 1,569,383 - 2,000,000 SHU (in comparison, a jalapeño ranges between 2,500 - 10,000 SHU). Few people can handle him... I mean, *them*
Akihito is the pepper paprika comes from, because he sweet and spicy. Since paprika can be made from a variety of different peppers, it ranges from mild to hot at times... which pretty much sums up Akihito
Kirishima is a Red Devil's Tongue... because I like the name. It's also very hot (250,000 - 500,000 SHU)
Suoh is the largest pepper, a NuMex Big Jim, which can grow up to 35 cm (14 in) in length. Mild (2,500 - 3000 SHU) but very tasty ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
Fei Long is an ornamental pepper. Small and very pretty on the bush, but deceptively hot. Don't friggin' rub your eyes after touching them. You will regret it ╥﹏╥
Sudou is a green bell pepper which is something I'll eat very grudgingly. 0 Scoville Units :P

Could not finish this - it was kind of annoying. Just too many "Daddy Daddy Daddy s" The Uke is infantile and silly. Oh well, each to their own, some obviously think that behaviour is cute.
Did not really like the story (it was kind of disjointed) nor did I like the art all that much. Think I give this one a thumbs down.
Wow, was thee ever a lot of text and sound effects in that - it seemed to take up more room than the images! LOL
Gosh, all these art/story complaints! The original first chapter of this manga was not intended to be serialized, thus Yamane sensei probably had more time to draw the first chapter. And do all the scans come from the original pulp magazines or from the more refined tankoban?
We don't know, but obviously the look will vary a little over the course of 12 years as sensei becomes more accustomed to what she is drawing. If a famous artist is asked to keep redrawing the same image year after year there will be some evolution in style.
If you look at the works of Kubo (for Bleach) you will see the same thing. Instead of complaining about this, why don't you all consider that sensei has only three weeks to do the drawings for each chapter (because she has another manga she is working on at the same time and sometimes is required to fit an 'extra in too) and also has to keep up a consistent storyline. I have read novels by authors where they will miss details or accidentally change character names/descriptions form previous volumes, or poke holes in their own plots if they have to continue a series for a number of years. Please quit bellyaching, sensei is merely human and does not rely on a computer to keep images totally consistent, and I for one, enjoy the variation, as it shows that these images are all 'free drawn".

I agree with you. Do your know how hard it is to put all this together. it is time consuming, instead of bitch in about how long it takes to release the new chapter and how short it is, JUST be happy you still getting to read and see your favorite characters. For me , I am glad its here.
First chapter is the same in the tankoubon. I don't think she'd send an unfinished oneshot in a magazine, obviously she had more time.
Lately I'm just missing the Takaba from chapter 45 ^^'. Loved him there more than ever, aha. Not a fan of the "all cute/wifey" one we have in the last couple chapters, and I'm not talking only about the art. Hopefully he'll get back to that after some of the drama. If not, oh well... Get Asami's hair back up at least 8).
I mean, of course the the way characters are depicted matters, some will like it, some won't. It's not like she got worse at drawing or anything. It's just about tastes and what you got attached to. Even if the evolution is only natural...
Personally, I'm a bit heartbroken, I can get where people are coming from ^^'

Characters are unsympathetic, Nanami is not believable and Kaito is a shallow and rather vicious man. Plot is overused and tries to cram too much into too few pages. Did not like this one. No Stars at all. But that is my opinion and I have grown tired of these rape tropes turning into love.
