I want to rant again, disclaimer I don't defend the seme at all, I dont like his slutshaming, how he had dubcon sex, the sa, being insufferable to uke. I dont defend any of that.
I just want to say something (people will throw tomatoes at me) that I understand the feeling of betrayal and how he's crashing out.
After reading the novel, seme said "why you don't explain yourself, or convinced me harder, why you don't apologize to me after that" but because mostly it's uke pov and how we already pissed off by his present treatment towards uke, seme's pov kinda being ignored by readers
When he said that, I look back at the time the uke was jealous with Evelyn and the seme was persistent in convincing the uke that he doesn't love Evelyn, even poured out all his feelings, even he got on his knees, and promise something to uke, he even apologize. But meanwhile, seme was being manipulated by family, witnessed his uke laughing on the bed with his father after months he's in hospital, constantly seeing sexual pictures from the uke (edited and manipulated, some are probably fact as Andrew's friends attempted to rape the uke) but when the uke came to him again before he engaged with Evelyn after the betrayal, the uke was just crying and whining and just yelling "I'm pregnant with your child" then he just runaway from him???? No effort to convince seme even after yeas of knowing the misunderstanding.
The seme was working for him, cut off his family, they're being poor together living in small house while the seme working his ass outside, the seme shows alot of effort (before the accident) and for the uke to gatekeep the information and not telling him the truth with back up evidence (dna test) and just wallowing in how "how could you not trust me, how could you"
I don't victim blame the uke of course, but when you read how seme was often the one who actively communicate with the uke. And for the author to just shutting the uke's mouth just for the plot kinda pissing me off.
I know the seme shouldn't immediately think uke sleeps with his father, he could just suspect that maybe it's not with consent (but the uke was laughing lovingly hugging his father on his bed, that really fuck him up bruh imagine your boyfriend smiling hugging your mother on the bed lol) seme can also make an effort to know the truth of course, but for me this is something that he should listen from the uke, bc he wants the uke to convince himself that what he saw isn't the truth.
Just like how seme apologized and convinced the uke that he doesn't like evelyn, at least the uke should show the same effort and seriousness but the uke was naive and young and he felt small in that family so his option is just running away + uke thinks evelyn is better than him after putting seme in danger (inferiority complex)
Not to mention the seme still caring for the daughter that's not his.. (before the revelation)
The uke did say "i didn't sleep with your father" but he just keep repeating that. Like man, I'd be frustrated too ngl I'm being real here.
Also don't twist it as me defending seme's slutshaming and SA, I just want to rant about how frustrating the writing is and how I kinda understand seme's pov.
I get that you're frustrated since he could've done more tho i do think the seme deserves that. What he's done to the uke up till this point are unforgiveable, it's a crime, lol.
I do think the uke could've made better decisions...could've communicated more.
I feel like his thoughts would be like... what do you mean you love me but chose to believe other people, chose to hurt me, insult me... why should i defend myself to you, it'll be useless...like once you had this mindset it's hard to undo..
I do believe from experience that you need to make the other person comfortable enough to communicate openly and regularly to you... to trust you. I don't need to read the whole novel to know that he's lost his trust and that's not something you can just patch up with efforts to redeem yourself later on.

The lack of communication from the mc in the past really piss me off, but well it's written that way on purpose bc that would be the entire plot lol. Meanwhile, zig wrote the communication from the seme where uke doubted him in the past so well, but somehow can't do the same with uke.
Again this is not me blaming the uke, just noticing the writing. And how the conflict is just "the uke can't explain and can't make the top trust him well so this is why this conflict happens" it's kinda icky.
I'm just wondering why it is always on the victim's shoulders to explain themselves? Yes the top explained himself when it happened to him but he chose to do that. Besides no one treated him like trash because of it. And how do we know the mc didn't already try to explain himself? From what I remember reading him saying, it's very likely that he did, so why try again only to be disappointed again? Pushing him to 'communicate' under those circumstances only punishes him no one else, especially since he's the only one being treated like trash because of those kinds of assumptions. Yes assumptions because this is an omegaverse and the top should understand what can happen to omegas when even just exposed to pheromones.
my point is not that though, my point is the author very much can easily solve the plot.
The seme prove how devoted he's, getting on his knees, cutting off his family and started from zero, working nonstop and the uke saw how tired the seme was, the seme even protect him and get shot and risk on being crippled for the rest of his life after that he's only lucky because he's hyper dominant with high regenerative ability.
All I ask is just show the dna test. And even the seme was just wanting the uke to apologize sincerely for him, to convince him but the uke runaway.
Victim doesn't have to explain, but in relationship it takes two people to communicate. The seme constantly asked, uke has so many chance to fix the misunderstanding before things got ugly (before the runaway) he let the seme believe the family's manipulation even knowing how the Campbell does indeed manipulate the seme. The writing is just icky for me, it feels like the author just want to make the seme turn red flag by making the uke naive while making the seme do the chasing.
My point is before the the runaway plot, not i the present. I rant about things that happen years ago before they reunite again now. Not the present, I think my English is just confusing lol

The timeline is like this
Their childhood, first meeting (uke got abused by harold)
Yujin and Winston become lovers = Winston cut off his family, live poor together with seme working and uke alone in the house, basically in this time the seme shows his efforts as a man, as a devoted alpha, prevented harold for getting close again.
Misunderstanding happens to the two of them as victim (yeah seme also the victim, not just uke. Both being played and manipulated) *this is my whole rant)*
Uke then runaway (this is my whole rant timeline)*
Then years separate, they meet again in the present time (I'm not talking about this time in this comment, as this time the seme was too much of an asshole and it's pissing me off)

Saying that "oh I dont wanna ruin our friendship bc you're precious" kinda giving me a man with madonna vs whore complex. Taejun wanted both the whore and madonna (geonwu's friendship and "innocence") but I know damn well he's now also realizing he's into geonwu, and once he knows geonwu is pregnant he wouldn't let him go bc the baby is the anchor for his confidence that "finally, I have something to make me sure geonwu is mine, and we're not ruining our relationship bc there's a baby and we have no choice but be together :)"
I've read moscareto novel "codename march" and the mc is a runaway pregnant. But the runaway is kinda short and a bit unsatisfying for me, so I hope she'd write it better in this.
Taejun is not a black flag like in the other mahwa bl ofc, he's cocky, arrogant, and typical MALE you can find irl lol, a bit selfish too despite knowing how much geonwu is a simp for him (a bit insecure too bc deep inside he's scared of geonwu leaving him and breaking their relationship even as a friend) but mannnn... Knowing a person likes you and you just being comfortable sleeping around while knowing he'd be hurt is giving me ick.
