MC ( vampire ) is a black flag cuz When he realizes the human doctor likes him, he intentionally fakes feelings and exploits that affection as a tool to plan his escape from the slave camp. Even leaving him behind while escaping.

On the other hand :: ML is a god damn red sea . Because of how he grew up having no love and anyone for himself he is Intensely attached and cannot leave nor forget MC even hurting him badly during the process .

It's just feels like this went nowhere . It could have turned into a really extremely good story , with the way it was going ,their first sex could have been mind-blowingly good and consensual but nop author had to make that escape plan right then and turn their first time to rape . Other times too it could have been good one if he had just earned MC's consent cuz MC is easy to please tbh . Why did ML put that disease inside his body like why? If he wanted to keep on Living with MC ? And that shooting MC constantly was really brutal on the other hand yes MC was indeed trying to commit suicide by going to that place where there were no human remain . What is right and wrong is sooo blur but definitely those rapes could have been avoided. They could have turned into a power vampire couple if not for that unreasonable action of injecting the disease that ML did . On realistic setting no one is foolish enough to do that for someone who didn't appreciate him till the end.

WASTE OF GOOD ART TBH ☹

For anyone wondering - Yes director is indeed died , it was verified by the author . Also ,yes, it is Yijae who goes to the prison to teach the now-blind Minhyung in the final chapter but the purpose why he went there is different from what you imagine.

Minhyung completely fits the profile of a high-functioning psychopath .He does not experience, process, or internalize emotions the way a psychologically healthy person does. Instead of feeling genuine empathy or remorse, his internal world is driven entirely by obsession,
Calculation, and control.
He successfully mimicked normal human interactions( like from Namhyun), maintained a socially acceptable persona, and masked his true intentions to keep Yijae close. When he committed his crimes—such as murdering Director Hyeon Ho—he did not panic. He was highly methodical, manipulating evidence, leveraging connections (like the director's brother), and carefully covering his tracks to eliminate any loose ends.
Minhyung's ultimate downfall happened because his obsession turned into a fixation. When he realized Yijae would never truly belong to him and was still mourning his past lover on that cliffside, his logical mask shattered. He snapped, confessed out loud, and let his reckless impulses destroy the quiet, controlled life he had spent years building. The police heard that there and he got arrested.Armed with Minhyung's confession, the evidence, and Yijae's final police statement, the authorities lock Minhyung away on death row(meaning life in prison without parole in Korea )

Yijae survives but remains deeply traumatized, ultimately leaving everything behind with only the namesake teddy bear. That's why story is named Teddy bear .

Eight Years Later
Minhyung is imprisoned, completely blind, mentally shattered, and frequently suicidal. Yijae enters the prison as a Braille instructor, teaching Braille—a tactile reading and writing system used by people who are blind or visually impaired.
He takes on this role because it is the only way he can legally meet Minhyung. As an ex-partner and an unrelated civilian, Yijae would otherwise be barred from visiting him. Once his status changes from an authorized educational volunteer back to that of a civilian, he will permanently lose the ability to register as a personal visitor.

Ending Note
Keeping Minhyung alive serves a profound psychological purpose in the author's ending. Rather than granting him an escape through death, the story leaves him trapped in a miserable existence defined by total blindness, constant isolation, and emotional devastation. At the same time, it creates just enough opportunity for Yijae to return and establish their final, haunting dynamic.
As a Braille instructor, Yijae guides Minhyung's hands over the raised patterns that allow him to navigate the world without sight. This role reversal is deeply symbolic. Despite everything Minhyung once did to isolate and control Yijae, their positions have completely reversed. Minhyung is now the one who is trapped, isolated, and dependent, while Yijae holds all the power.

The Bitter Reality
Once the educational program ends, they will most likely never be able to meet again.
It is a one-time, fleeting encounter. Yijae's appearance feels almost ghostlike—a fleeting presence, he uses the Braille program to infiltrate the prison, forces the blind Minhyung to feel his touch, leaves him with a haunting reminder of the life he destroyed, and then walks away. Once those lessons conclude, the iron doors shut forever, leaving Minhyung entirely alone in the dark for the rest of his life .

Portraying that even after all the trauma, murder, and manipulation, their toxic and tragic bond remains unbroken, leaving the story on a deeply bittersweet and haunting note.

Last few chapters was really really suffocating.
I was clutching my head for MC to come back to his senses and run away from that psycho. Thankfully he did come to his senses for some chapters after ML tried to murder him and tried his best to be free .At the end of the day , it was never love . ML never loved MC . ML was always trapped in his mom's shadow and wanted to kill himself at the end just like his mom did after every role ended . His plan was fixed to kill himself and his creater with him from the very beginning..just like his previous creater his mom died.
Honestly extremely disappointed at the end Author left MC trapped in those nightmares forever. ML a victim created another victim..it wasn't necessary for author to leave such a wretched ending for the MC , almost feels like author hated MC and that red haired guy to the core . There life left to be miserable forever. Playing with readers mind as well , showing little hopes of happiness but at last striping every smile almost like some real life psycho killers who let their victims have delusions of escape. At the end of the day ML didn't die , and MC was actually quite sane with his decisions at second last chapter but author flipped and decided to leave wretched ending when it wasn't required. If mL had died it would have actually made sense for MC to be trapped in that nightmare but since he did not it doesn't make sense , with good counseling MC and red head could have had a little bit of happy days . Miserable endings doesn't mean readers are gonna remember a story forever if it doesn't make sense . What a waste of potential . It would have been perfect if it ended in middle of chapter 45 , before he gave that black clothes , last 5 chapters ruined everything.. Have seen many Chinese authors writing these type of stories where whole life of MC is miserable lol ,this trope never fading.
Rating : 1/5

What I really liked about this story was how it didn’t ignore or romanticize the abuse the way many Korean manhwas often do. The MC never simply forgave the ML or buried the past for the sake of romance. Instead, he continuously made the ML confront the reality of his actions — that their relationship began through coercion and assault, not love. That honestly made the story feel far more grounded and emotionally impactful.
What made it even better was that the ML’s redemption arc actually felt earned. Rather than being instantly excused, he gradually came to understand the weight of what he had done and genuinely grew as a character. Noticing how ML doesn't actually know how to behave politely and softly at all with anybody also shows what has years abuse and violence he has suffered through his own father has costed him , I feel bad for his childhood . Imagine how bad it must have been for his mother to leave his father just cuz she couldn't withstand the violence against her child. You could see the author trying to handle the topic with more care and maturity instead of using abuse as just another plot device.
The MC was also genuinely strong , as we can clearly see how he confronts ML about abuse he has suffered head on , which made the emotional tension hit harder ..wish more MC's are like this . And on top of that, the art noticeably improved as the chapters progressed.
Overall, I don’t think it’s a bad story at all. It’s probably not something I’d reread , but I am looking forward to the side stories to see whether the characters continue to grow and what new aspects might be explored further.

I liked reading your review. We share the same sentiments. Thanks for taking the time to write it

Totally agree! More ppl need to read this. It’s def not the best writing tbh and not for everyone but it’s really not as bad as some people wanna act like it is. The writing is pretty good, and it’s a manga adaptation so I’ve heard it’s a little better in the novel.

I was feeling the same way. I appreciate the fact that author didn’t romanticise rape and abuse, and tried to portray it in as mature way as possible. Although, the fact that in the end they stayed together left a bitter aftertaste, I feel like it’s in some way realistic. MC spent a lot of time with ML, went through a lot, slowly became dependent on ML and developed positive feelings amidst all the hatred. Which tbh I hate but ig ML did get the redemption arc etc.. idk the plot is heavy

The fact that Illay is crazy only hits me when I see that damaged eye of Xinlu . He is nuts honestly.
