I get everyone is upset at Jaekyung blowing up kim dan again but personally I like a path to rehabilitation that includes a realistic bumpy road, i personally get pissed off more at stories where a character reflecting has them suddenly and unnaturally start doing the right thing at every turn when they barely understood how to treat others with empathy before being implored to change. So while it might be frustrating in the moment, I actually think that this is better for story in the long and that its a little healthier for the story to have this slight dip in mood lol. Plus jaekyung did show a small, subtle in his immediate regret after saying something awful and lashing out, and choosing to leave the room instead of doubling down. It reminds me of being under the same roof as someone in recovery, healing is slow and rocky and it involves people losing their grip. I like that this is incorporated
The rape scene in itself is extremely uncomfortable, which I believe is the point, with Sakura being in despair over everything that’s happening and heartwrenching dialogue hanging overhead. I don’t like depicting these kinds of scenes with a minor, but I do understand that the point of the scene was to detail Sakuras exact kind of trauma and characterization and to shock the reader with thr reality of this kind of abuse. The depiction in the manga itself is one thing, where you can have a fair discussion over where a line should be drawn and how victims stories should be told… but the scanlation team’s handling of this was extremely poor, what the hell? Taking a scene that was clearly meant to be serious and uncomfortable about a real thing that happens to real people and then putting immature and tasteless jokes over it… plus overexplaining what a transgender man is and being condescending… I just hope this behavior isn’t repeated because that was in profoundly poor taste

I usually get a little annoyed when people massively downvote a story and apply real life logic or morals to a work that’s obviously exaggerated and not trying to redeem itself as the story goes on, but goddamn. This is the first I got this pissed awf while reading. I might have loved the ML if he was in a different, more serious work, and I might have loved the MC more if he was in a different, better work too. That said THIS FUCKING STORY PISSED ME THE HELL OFFFFF WHAT DO YOU MEAN ALL THE RAPE JUST HAPPENS, IS PLAYED STRAIGHT AS RAPE, AND THEN THEY JUST NEVER TOUCH ON IT EVER AGAIN? It doesn’t even feel like a fetish work where the obvious point is to get off at it, (even though its structured like those) its just damn annoying! Seriously, these characters had the potential to be massively fascinating in a different setting. In this one? They have to throw their entire brain down the meat grinder for it to work. Like fuck man I usually stand on the principle that artists works all deserve to exist no matter my personal feelings on them, but damn this was a waste to read while I’m living in an active war zone underneath constant bombardment!!! TS PMO!!! TS PMO so flippin bad!!! I haven’t read the side stories and I honest to god don’t know how I could stop being pissed off long enough to read along. This just made me think of how much I prefer Sweet Pools (a yaoi horror visual novel) tackling on the severity of rape over this; its not downplayed and every scene makes you terrified out of your mind, and the main character is genuinely disturbed from it, but its also a tool of the narrative that forces you to seriously think about everything thats happening. The main character ultimately decides to forgive everything that happened (because he’s just inherently that gentle a person) and the work is moreso about the ephemerality of life and the importance of living in the moment. (Plus its a horror scary shit just keeps on happening and considering the setting everyone is living in, you know its a heightened situation where you can’t exactly blame certain characters for how they snap under pressure, which is sort of why the main character gives himself the peace of forgiving those who hurt him)

I won’t say anything about the future or the raws as I don’t have access to either, but I don’t understand why someone would struggle to understand Kwon Taeshin or the plot overall. Kwon Taeshins affection and near-resentment makes a lot more sense if you tie it to him being terrified of attachments, probably due to his family situation. (Note him sleeping around a lot, never forming connections and refusing to emotionally invest himself in anyone) he has a lot of immature and strong emotions he doesn’t know how to deal with (plus he keeps a cool facade and his attachment disorder ties into it) so all his feeling compound into an overwhelming mass that slides into negativity. He hates the main character because he likes him and is terrified of him holding that power over him, alongside his ability to leave at any time. Some people who have these attachment disorders can’t bear looking at the full brunt of their emotions, so they trick themselves into thinking that they’re superior and smarter than everyone else in their life because they have the ability to be abandoned and not feel anything, since they “saw it coming” and such. Its kind of sad like watching a kid brag about how they knew everything in their life would fall apart and they were smart and strong enough to know something out of their control could happen and now they’re better than the average person because they were able to move on from something another person couldn’t. Taeshin loves the main character, and that sometimes translates to him hating him in equal measure because he’s had an impact on his life and things won’t be the same “once he leaves.” Even his assertion that he’d hate him to death is actually a confession that if the MC were to leave him, he’d still cling onto their relationship and thats the way he’d force it to stay alive- after all love and hatred are two emotions borne of passion and apathy is the true death of relationships. Taeshins hatred and need to ruin the MC is really the way he keeps himself safe from the terror of being abandoned first, and the “need to ruin” is his revenge and punishment for daring to force an attachment that could humiliate Taeshin once he leaves. Caring more is terrifying to Taeshin, who I suspect grew up surrounded by utter apathy that punished his emotions. The “desire to ruin” is sort of like a wounded animal bristling its fur and lashing out at someone getting close to them, its a flight or fight response. Taeshin freaked out after 1 day of not being contacted because that affirmed to him just how easy he would be to remove from someones life. Taeshins desperate want to be either a husband or a sibling to the MC is him wanting to be impossible to be abandoned or to have no strong feelings for, but he doesn’t trust either of those roles in the mcs life because the both of them grew up in a shaky home where they were abandoned. Taeshin feels so strongly that he, in a way, wants to bury himself in the main characters body so he’s be impossible to throw away or hold no regard for. Anyways thats about all i thought the story built this up well, Taeshins obsession with “superiority” (ruining) in a way is like when you make friends with someone who smugly says they actually aren’t that attached to you and they can throw you away vaguely, and when you actually peel a layer away that person will confess to in a roundabout way that this is how they protect themselves from caring too much for another person and being vulnerable to their affection.
