The main characters have depressing backstories and struggle with trauma but they learn to cope and communicate properly. The ending is happy but if you're looking for something with no angst this probably isn't for you, It's still really good tho and as I said it's a happy ending!
It is a happy ending but has a lot of angst going on for the main characters, you must read it - don't miss it out
