Even in the third life where Kloff remember the 21st life, he never realize what he did were only abuse and torture. It didn't hold any meaning at all. Instead he still low key blaming Aeroc. He just chose to treat Aeroc better. He never acknowledge what he did was wrong and wasn't justified at all. The ending with no true remorse and proper redemption are just unsatisfying.
