wow i have so many thoughts.
first, god that climax was underwhelming. you're telling me that the culmination of a sociopathic teenager with murderous intentions dating a depressed, self-destructive adult man is the most boring missionary sex I've seen in my entire life and a happy ending?? like. go girl give us nothing!
I'm only this pissed because everything before this was extremely well done!!! the set-up and the tension and the internal conflict and the angst was so juicy! but there was no payoff! the main conflict was resolved over the span of like two pages!! I wanted violence and destruction and suffering!!!
Shou was a really interesting character and was written like an actual teenager; with all the inexperience and instability that comes with being that age (minus, like, the whole murder plot thing). him and Kei are literally a match made in hell and I found myself wondering who really is the victim in this situation. I just wish this manga leaned into that more.
i love how as soon as they step foot in america there's immediate gun violence, armed robbery, attempted murder, and even a fucking plane hijacking in the last chapter. now i've never been to america, but this is pretty accurate to what I imagine the country is like (lol jk jk… mostly)
