MC has amnesia since the very beginning of the story and we know just about as much as the MC. As the story progresses, MC and readers get to piece together wtf is going on around them, who is lying to them, who exactly is trying to make a fool out of them by taking advantage of their amnesia etc.

Abo where some mf alpha forcefully marks an omega but because the recipient did not truly want it, it doesn't actually work and there is no mark at all. OR, there is a mark but it looks like a network of thorny branches, showing the hostility of the omega. It can go away with time as the character heals from the trauma/ finds someone else whom they actually love, etc.
