Been trying to understand what love is by reading manga --- you name it. But can't really seem to understand it. Anyone who feels the same way?
Love is not a thing, love are a bunch of different things depending on the person.
There's chemistry, there's romance, there's each one's fantasy, some love requires sex, some love is platonic, some love is unhealthy obsession, neurodiverse people can experience love in a different way than a neurotypical. Sometimes the problem between two persons in love is not the love, but their personality and choices. Sometimes two can love each other, but in such different ways that their love is not compatible.
The question isn't "what's love?". The questions would be, "how do I feel affection?" And "how do people around me feel affection?"
I wrote demisexual, aromantic and asexual.. i forgot to include demiromantic. I've been new to this really.. I'm in my 20's and rarely had crushes or being in a relationship. Realized that I can't seem to grasp love romantically(also forgot to include romantic love coz there's diff kinds of love) but rather, in need of deep emotional bond with someone to feel sexual attraction and maybe fall in love(am like demisexual and demiromantic)
I feel like i’m the same, i mean i did like somebody (but idk if i can call it love bc i also don’t know abt it very well) and i did share deep bonds with them until now, but I don’t think i can feel sexual attraction. In fact, i don’t think I CAN feel it to anyone especially to those i have very deep bonds with, it’s weird bc ppl are telling me you’d want to touch the person you love (romantically). I also think i won’t ever be able to love someone romantically, because when i was in a relationship, i realized that all i can provide is nothing more than what a good friend could give, there was nothing special or anything i could give that could make me more of a “lover”. Up til now, i am still confused but I just decided to go with the flow, maybe someday i’ll understand (bc even after reading a lot of romance, it’s still fiction).
Yep, try to research about demisexual, demiromantic, aromantic and asexual. You'll understand yourself better from this. But here's a concept about those that I mentioned. Demisexual is like you need a deep emotional bond to someone to feel sexually attracted to them. Demiromantic is like you need a deep emotional bond to someone to feel romantic feelings to them. Aromantic is you don't feel any romantic feelings or desire for romantic relationships. a person who has no sexual feelings or desires, or who is not sexually attracted to anyone. Actually, there's a bunch of definitions about all of these.
