Some of you are being real mean and ignorant. Last time I checked this was a work of fiction. Jaxx does not have to be historically accurate. These are not real events or real people. If it bothers you that much, have a civil conversation and educate. You don’t have to read this, no one is forcing you. *edit* Let me clarify “these are not real events”. The story did not happen. I don’t mean to say that slavery or the civil war never happened.
Bitch, have you gone fucking senile the antebellum period/slavery is not a historically accurate event are you stupid? This is not fiction. This is reality. This is something that has happened in real life in our timeline. She does have a right to be historically accurate and she owes it to the people who have suffered tremendously from the egregious, active slavery you stupid, fucking racist.
These are real events. If the author had set the story in a western cowboy-inspired setting, it would be different. But they specifically set it during and called it the Civil War !!
How ignorant can you be? Think before spouting nonsense.
YOU are the one being ignorant. this being a work of fiction doesn't negate the fact that it is based on real historical events that include the immense suffering, mistreatment, and subsequent FREEING of slaves. to then include a line that a native american says to a white man (whose family OWNED slaves) "i'm your humble slave, master" sound not even seem a tad bit tasteless to you? this is a cliche oppressed x oppressor story that will end up preaching the romanticisation of oppressing minorities. and i'm quite frankly shocked at how you try to hide your racism behind excuses of "it's just fiction"

this!! i have no qualms with reading a western historical story, but to set it in an actual, non-fiction time period means you need to be historically accurate. i dont know why this is so hard for some people to comprehend
Jaxx put their story in a certain setting, but it’s fiction. It is their story to tell how they want to. So what they mentioned the Civil War and depicted slavery. It’s their interpretation to fit their work of fiction. There have been plenty of media that depicts slavery and conflicts in a different way and again it’s fiction. But we wanna cry every single time because it’s not an accurate depiction. Learn the difference between fiction and non fiction. Calling me derogatory names shows how much low intelligence you have.
