If you're a writer and you write plots like that then you're a shitty writer, you don't just "kill" a character for a shocking experience. Maybe a reason (a really extra strong reason) why they would lose this match will make it even more interesting and would make us readers to continue on reading because they had lose and ready to fight again. I am one of the few that bothered to read the character profiles on Chapter 6 and by the looks of it, there is no shared love between Daato and Juda. Just mutual respect, which is nice but totally not what I was expecting.
I just read it again. I think you're talking about Juda and Ruado having mutual respect for each other. Not Juda and Datao. They're having a love hate relationship that is going to be explain in their story. Considering it been at least 10 years of being stuck together- maybe they like each other a little more now.
