I can't answer the first 'which chapter of the novel' question but I can answer the 2nd one: Manga follows reboot version. completed ver is more gritty, darker and serious, deffo not like the current "comfort, wholesome" vibe

yes! I was also quite surprised by the difference. I initially started the reboot novel cause I saw the manga. Somehow somewhere, I found out there's an OG that was stopped. I may or may not be remembering this right, but the author might have stopped writing the OG cause of how heavy it was(￣∇￣") It's not Attack on Titan/Jujutsu Kaisen level of dark/heavy vibe tho - just not 'happy happy, warm~' enough
I knew he was gonna use that card... it's all just one-sided testimony from a subordinate and there is no direct evidence against him.
But I'm glad that at least the judge did not completely dismiss the possibility of his involvement. I was worried the people he bribed in high places would completely remove him from any suspicion.
