I feel like people don’t give Gyuha enough credit for how wonderful he is as a character. He’s definitely not perfect, there are things he could work on but ultimately he doesn’t even have to…before getting married & having a kid, he was living his life well, he’s young, a man, had a job, why couldn’t he party & be a little crazy? Chayoung was the Same, they tag teamed partners and had orgys together.
People saying he’s always cold, I don’t think he’s cold, I see that he’s more laidback sarcastic. Besides, he and chayoung been rivals or whatever since they were young, they grew up together, their families are rivals too, why would Gyuha be super kind and loving to chayoung with that kind of backstory? Not to mention ML again, wasn’t that nice either. He’s the one who chased Gyuha and proposed being FWBs & made Gyuha bottom.
Anyways, as soon as Gyuha found out he was pregnant, he changed 180. Immediately stopped partying, stopped hanging out with nobodies, stopped eating and drinking bad, the whole 9. It’s shown he barely lets loose and only does when he’s sure his kid is well taken care of. Gyuyoung would not be that wonderful as a kid if Gyuha wasn’t a great parent.
Also chayoung saying “if anything goes wrong he will leave” did yall forget he is obsessively stalking Gyuha 24/7 this whole time? If I were Gyuha, already texting and calling chayoung all the time, already letting him know who I’m with, when where how why, all of that, and find out your husband is still stalking you? That would hurt me because I’m already doing what I’m supposed to do but you don’t trust me or what? I’d leave too. It’s like those dads that ask for a paternity test out of absolutely nowhere. And chayoung knows this; which is why it’s a secret.
If anything Chayoung is more cold than Gyuha. The way he literally didn’t care about Gyuha actually wanting the baby until he found out it was his. He literally doesn’t care about anyone else besides those who benefit him and Gyuha and his family.
But I love both characters, they’ve come so far, they are foils to each other, they know each other the best and they wouldn’t be where they are without both of them 100% understanding and supporting each other to be the best of themselves.
I just want Gyuha to get his flowers too. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I’m not going to argue with anyone, but I’m just so confused why so many people seems to think Chayoung is better than Gyuha or something and Gyuha needs to be this or that or whatever when Chayoung is just as bad if not worse, like who stalks their own spouse secretly? Who does that? Who proposes a FWB deal & gets mad that “Fwb” isn’t loving to you? Chayoung does.
Let’s not forget that he didn’t want to be held down, didn’t want kids to begin with and yet he’s doing his absolute best as both a husband and a father. He’s someone who doesn’t need someone to be content with life and that’s why chayoung needed to step up. It’s not that gyuha is against chayoung or that chayoung has other alphas as competition. His only competition is single gyuha’s lack of stress. Gyuha’s only condition is “don’t make me more stressed out than I was when I was single” and we should ALL strive to be that. He’s the most healthy character in the entire story. Chayoung wasn’t necessarily bad but he’s pushy and like you said, very cold towards others even to the point of being cruel. The cousin is wayyy out of line. He wanted a cute little woman by his side when everyone and their grandma knows that chayoung would have been the worst husband to anyone with less self assurance than gyuha. Gyuha being that way actually forced chayoung to be a good person.
Preach!!!! Please tell them, everyone from the front to the back!!! Exactly my sentiments. People should really be following Gyuha’s example of him already being 100% himself, loving himself and living life to the fullest. Chayoung just hid his bad habits, Gyuha didn’t care to hide what he liked. Why should he give that that good life he built for himself if his partner wasn’t going to make his life better? This is just a fictional story but ideally, I recommend to everyone & anyone, don’t get with someone if they’re going to make you miserable.
But yeah, I love both these characters. Love Gyuha more. I need his family and friends to be more understanding of him. I don’t think that he didn’t want more kids, having a kid is already hard enough for normal women, how hard must it be for a recessive omega man. Like is he supposed to happily risk his life to have another kid, be like “let me get pregnant again, go through the pains of pregnancy and childbirth, possibly making my husband a widow and my already born child motherless because my existence as an omega is having kids which should be my ultimate joy” it just seems misogynistic to me.

Just want to say they aren’t rivals and neither are their families. Their mothers are best friends and got pregnant at similar times. Gyuha and Chayoung grew up together (until Chayoung went abroad), and are childhood friends.
No I mean he didn’t want the kid he has. He didn’t want the initial pregnancy and asked about abortion and when he found out it’s impossible for his body, he gave up and did his best. He just simply didn’t want kids. If anyone wants the couple to have a second child, they can be a surrogate for them!
You know, you’re right. Tbh I have followed this story for so long I admit I have forgotten a lot of details. I reread the first 5 or so chapters though and I remember why I thought they were rivals. It was because Chayoung was IMO, despite my love for him, such a stalker creep right from the start, and Gyuha really didn’t like him all that much, though I really don’t blame him, Chayoung was really messing with him. and I don’t get why his parents treat Chayoung so well compared to Gyuha himself. Not that they should treat Chayoung bad, but Gyuha isn’t a bad kid, he listens to them & they couldnt answer him when he said “if you felt that way about me, why did you raise me like a normal beta”. Rereading the first few chapters makes me like him even more lol.

It’s because chayoung looks and dresses like a respectable man while being a deplorable creep sometimes and gyuha looks and dresses like a thug bum despite being an actually really good guy! Also I feel like almost all parents secretly wish their kid was literally any other kid than the one they got. I’ve never once seen a parent just completely happy and proud of the child they have. They always want to change something and friends and cousins will always be spoken about fondly like “Awh look at xx’s kid! They’re so amazing! They do XX. Why can’t you be more like that??” Parents just tend to universally suck in that department.
So MC thinks ML should be with a woman, ML says no, and so MC is like “ok then sleep with me since you said you only want me” but ML wont/but it’s not really his fault due to the drugs & being a virgin/being in civil war for so long, so now MC is like do you want me or not? And now the ML wants him, but with no sexual experience & the MC just immediately/accidentally kind of traumatizing him, plus he’s secretly a black belly yandere that for some reason he is worried yet not worried the MC will found out about, and now both are miserable because of themselves & no one else can really help but everyone’s walking on eggshells around them …

So I loved what’s being shown in the manhwa here. I loved it so much, I went to go read the novel. The newest chapter here is chapter 20-25 of the novel.
I need help on deciding whether I should drop this or not lol.
here’s the spoiler: the uke sees his painting, his painting holds very deep trauma for him because he painted it when he was just feeling neglected from his parents as teenagers do, he was 16, the painting represents his loneliness and anguish, his parents so far has not neglected him in any way whatsoever but this is just a little flashback, idk the whole story, anyway…and then right after this painting, his mom died & his loving father abandoned him. So to him, this painting “ruined his life”. Seeing the painting, the uke had a black out panic attack & he wakes up in the ML’s house & everyone else is gone, he has no memory, he just blacked out & woke up in ML’s guest room.
Here’s more spoiler: the novel is written in uke's 1st person perspective so far, it has a lot of details, way more than the manhwa. I didn’t actually read the chapters, I just skimmed to find the chapter to match the book.
The ML takes care of the uke, and the uke is acting all baby to the ML & the ML doesn’t mind, the uke knows too that he’s being a bit babyish, but he catches the ML smiling and whatnot so he feels encouraged to keep up his baby act & he also justifies “I need the ML’s help anyway since I’m in his house, I don’t know anything in here & it’s rude for me to refuse the host’s favor”
He was so baby that the ML had to watch uke brush his teeth, use the bathroom and whatnot because if the ML walked away, apparently the uke would be traumatized again?the uke legit didn’t let ML out of his sight and ML caught uke watching him in the bathroom mirror. To me, this is so weird. Here’s where I’m like, I feel like dropping this cuz why you need someone to watch you do bathroom stuff? But I never been in a trauma situation like that, maybe I’m just spoiled idk…
Anyways, the uke is like “I like this older, smart, handsome, kind, experienced man taking care of me, I will just owe him, he’s so nice, & ML is right, being alone is not safe for me” idk, they both just tacitly agreed without real words & somehow decided uke being alone was dangerous & needed ML to baby him & watch him do his bathroom routine, idk…
To his credit, Uke did try to leave but the ML didn’t let him, the ML justifies uke staying by being like “I know you just went through unimaginable trauma, I’m older, wiser, more experienced, let me help you, trust me, I know how to handle this stuff” (ok ML didn’t say it like this at all, but that’s the feeling I get from uke inner thoughts) and uke is just like “yeah, you’re right” and is in awe of ML, he sees ML for the first time as a very wise, very admirable, very gentlemanly person who’s also very much older than him….like “this is the true power of an older man”
ML even hides the painting so uke can’t see it and get traumatized again. Which is good.
Here’s where I want to drop the story: the ML somehow figures that uke is so traumatized & been letting ML baby the him, ML said/jokes “let me sleep in the bed with you, it’ll make you feel better, you will sleep better blah blah, this is like therapy” & uke is just like “yeah, this is therapy, again, you’re the older smart man, I trust your judgement and you’re right, I probably do need help sleeping” they get into bed together. ML immediately then says “wanna know what’s going to really help you sleep and clear your mind and help you deal with your trauma?” And then it gets sexual.
To me this just seemed predatory and weird, like…I thought he was a green flag? You know this kid is way younger than you, you know he just had a panic attack, has really bad trauma, you know he’s now looking up to you as a mature, trustworthy adult, he nearly reverted to a kid, uke said in his head he felt he was 16 all over again, refers to himself like a lost child, but anyways, ML knows uke is clearly struggling, & being a big baby all in front of him. ML even goes to say “I know you’re not normally like this, if it wasn’t for the trauma you’d never be like this, you’re a very well put together young man normally, this is just a bad day” ok so you know the uke is really in a bad state of mind right now, & that’s…sexy to you? Makes you wanna jump his bones? Idk it’s weird IMO.
This is what I felt reading the book so far, some of yall may interpret it differently. I wanna believe this might be a “let them cook, trust the process” kind of deal but idk… This “green flag” just turned red for me real fast lol.
Me too! I rolled my eyes so hard at the scene where ML asks MC if "he'd like to feel better" because I KNEW it meant they were about to engage in sexual activity. Boooo! I really hate that cliche of getting down and dirty after a traumatic event, like damn ok. To me it seemed predatory and dubcon. But everything IS consensual. There's a scene afterwards where MC is speaking to the flirty Dr. where he thinks to himself that he wouldn't have done that with anyone but ML. Yeah I felt uncomfortable but MC? He wanted that yellow-flag cookie of a man so bad.
If you are uncomfortable with "just" this, drop it. Cause you won't like what it's to come.
ML IS a good man, but he is not perfect. And MC and him ALWAYS have consensual intimacy, but there is a factor in the equation (a spoiler) that complicates it all.

ML is a Phantom/Ghost alpha, an alpha capable of turning a beta into an omega. And MC is a Diamond Dust, a kind of beta that emites pheromones (that only Phantom alphas can smell) and also can smell the pheromones of a Phantom alpha.
So when they have penetrative sex for the first time, ML is completely gone doe MC's pheromones, knots MC and with that he "activates" the change. When he comes to his senses, he is horrified with himself. It really was a genuine mistake.

YES, ML knew since he was young and he went to USA to live with a couple, experts in pheromones, who helped him to control his pheromones and the change process.
MC feels like a monsters cause he is not a beta nor an omega at that point (50%).
ML feels terribly guilty since the start, and as time goes by he drinks and smoke more and more and eat less and less. BUT he is always good and caring with MC. His "only flaw" and red flag is the keeping quiet about being a Phantom Alpha and the change he is performing in MC's nature.

Long story short:
They don't breakup, but they go their separate way for over a year. ML goes to USA, as they were planning to do together, and MC goes to Paris (he accept an offer to live and learn in a place for artist where is also Yuna).
After that time MC comes to terms with his situation and doesn't feel like a monster anymore.
MC and ML reunites in France and they start to rebuild their relationship.
At the end of the story MC is pregnant and they do a gender reveal. They'll have a baby girl.
Thank you for the spoilers. I won’t lie not a biggest fan knowing the age gap/ plus the lying by omission / power imbalance doesn’t paint the ML as a green flag as being touted here. In fact it makes him pretty bad for his actions full stop even if it’s ultimately a happy ending.

In my opinion, I hate how this story was only able to progress, from start to finish because the ML is such a well rounded person. They only have problems when the MC is being dumb & not communicating, and the problems is only fixed because the ML can somehow read his mind
And I’m sick of it in the main story, I mean I guess it works for the tension and whatnot, whatever…but even then, I’m still pissed it took ML’s mom dying for them to get together, but only because the ML was vulnerable & they had to be together for the plot so they were. It didn’t even feel resolved.
but in these side stories when it’s implied they’ve been together for “years” and the MC has supposedly “grown so much”?
Mc so stressed, missing the ML, so in love with the ML, everything he wants is to do with the ML….then why after all this time he never considered moving in. Never considered moving to the states together, never considered being the bigger person for ML. Always just the ML figuring it out and making it out. This isn’t a bad story or a mad match up, but idk, they do seem mismatched and like, I just don’t know why the MC can’t actually be wiser, more mature and DO something good for the ML finally.
Sorry for the rant. Idk, side stories are supposed to be happy and nice I thought and show a different side of the characters. But it just looks like I’m seeing the same old thing from the main story 80+ chapters and it’s just irritating. Thank goodness the ML is such a good guy and has mind reading powers, otherwise this story would never work.
I think the MC has an avoidant attachment style due to all the trauma he's been though in his life. It shows with all the problems he has with committing to the relationship and all the next steps they take.
I think the author actually shows the MC's struggles very well in the story, and there is little progression for the MC because he still has a lot of work to do for his mental health, he should definitely go to therapy.
He's very lucky that ML is way more in touch with his feelings and has more emotional intelligence. You are right to point out, that without ML being the way he is, the relationship would have never happened.
But on the other hand, to get better and heal mentally, we often need someone to reach out to us and help when we don't even know how to ask for it. And the healing process is long, tedious, there will be relapses, so the struggling person need a lot of compassion.
So even though the MC is behaving in a frustrating way, I feel empathy towards them, because it wasn't his fault he had a crappy past that left him damaged.
Why does he trust Henry’s head so much, but not his heart? If he’s so hell bent on finding out whether Henry loves him or not more than his flings, wouldn’t the obvious answer be heart? He takes care of him so well, doesn’t do anything bad like the other 2, always being good to him, and he tells him straight up that it’s Henry’s love for him, it’s Henry’s heart, like ??? What more does he want?

This work is purely fiction, but it has brought up something real. A victim able to climax from SA-er/grapist who may or may not not their partner is not the victim’s fault. I see a few comments which IMO is implying blame on the MC for having a normal physical reaction to someone messing with him when he’s not in his right mind, his body has been changed & conditioned without his consent, it’s literally not his fault, and if this were a real SA/grape situation, no matter what, it’s not a victim’s fault they can’t 100% control what their body does. There is a science behind this, nerves, muscles, really are grouped into whether they are voluntary or involuntary meaning whether they can be controlled or not by human will.
