The age gap is pretty large, certainly not for everyone, but I think it's written well so far. MC is a bit young at 23, I'd love for him to be above 25 at least, but it's no grooming situation imo.
A lot of aspects of this story (age gap, poor/rich, inexperienced uke, SM) have the potential to get pretty toxic if not handled properly.
Still, there's a lot to like:
1. Enthusiastic Consent and interest in BDSM from both sides prior to the story
2. The MC and his love interest actually communicate (and do other things than fucking)
3. Aftercare and a decent respect for boundaries (although no mention of safe words so far unfortunately)
I'll definitely stay to see where this is going ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I mean 23 is plenty of an adult
I’d have rather the son be 30-35 tho.
That way the gap isn’t too creepy but they’d still have the same dynamics. Since 23 is college age, but by 30 most ppl are established in their career, have stable income and finances, and live alone etc. it wouldn’t have affected the relationship dynamics *that* much
Massive trigger warning for anyone who wants to read this. It's very heavy and deals with child abuse and child sexual abuse.
The translation isn't very good at times, so it's a bit difficult to rate the writing. The pace is a bit confusing at times but the story overall id beautiful, tragic but also hopeful.
I wish the abuse was not as explicit but I appreciate that it's not as sexualised at it is in many mangas. I love the choice of never really showing the abuser's face, even though it was admittedly a little difficult to understand the plot due to that. Still, the focus of such stories lies on the victim and the abuser's worthless face doesn't matter - his actions do.
Holy fuck this manga needs every trigger warning imaginable ngl...
But I have to admit, I'm intrigued. Yandere BLs are fairly interesting to me and Shirayuki seems to be a clear-cut case of one. I'm also weirdly amused how fucked up everyone in this world is, like that place can NOT be functional.
I see the potential but there are some glaring issues. Besides the story being messy, the main characters haven't really developed as people so far. I hope Haruki grows a bit of a spine soon tbh, because while I love him and I want to give him a hug and a big tank full of fish, his naivete is a bit frustrating narrative-wise. I really don't wanna victim-blame him, none of this was his fault, as a reader such an overly innocent character can get exhausting fast. On the other hand, I hope the Yandere boyo gets knocked down a few stages. He's too powerful and it makes every conflict boring.
As others have pointed out, the rape scenes are also pretty tastless. Revenge rape isn't edgy, it's not fun, it's just disgusting. Morally, I'd even put it beneath revenge murder because it's unnecessarily cruel and honestly portrayed in a weirdly fetishist way.
I'll keep reading tho, let's see where this shit goes (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
literally how I feel i was really interested at the start but to be honest the characters have no depth and it’s just the same thing over and over it’s getting boring. Haruki is literally just a nice guy who’s selfless and constantly gets put into bad situations while shirayuki is just in love and constantly protects haruki. that’s their whole character like can they please get more personality? Can we get a different plot point than a crazy person traumatising haruki again and shirayuki ends up torturing/killing them..? I’ll still read this but it’s such a shame because this has so much more potential honestly

Also, is the love interest... in love with her cousin? Wtf
